An artesian well is always refreshed by virtue of being an artesian well and there is no need to add bleach at any stage. I have an artesian well and have a drain off below the pitless adaptor that flows into a drain away. The flow is slow when the water gets to the drain off and is about 1 gal per 12 hours because of the head of water is about 320 ft from the water bearing fissures. The greatest problem is that an artesian well can cause flooding if not managed correctly. These is also the requirement to report an artesian to the province and you may be required to cap and seal the bore.

We had to put in a UV system in our well. Works great. Take care and good luck

We are wishing you good luck with the water Garry.......we did ours last year and it was a fail for drinking........we are currently hooking up some filters and reverse osmosis and hoping that will work for the drinking.
