Today, we take one giant step towards finishing my $2,000,000 flooded McLaren P1, and that's testing the electrical system, breathing the first signs of life into the car since it went into the ocean nearly two years ago. We also take a look at fitting the bespoke carbon fiber clamshell once and for all, thanks to Shawn from Attacking The Clock Racing.

Wish us luck, we will need it!

Kind of crazy how you can repair something so complex when you simply have access to diagrams and schematics. No wonder why companies in every industry are fighting right to repair so hard. Keep up the good work my dude, this journey is wild.
  • @VINwiki
Well if this is as far as you get, you still have the world's coolest night light.
  • @tylerc161
42:10 Adam is seriously the biggest hero of this whole thing. I mean, everyone is doing their part no doubt but Adam is doing the thing we ALL hate the most; and perfect.
  • @dazuk1969
The dude making the wiring loom is probably the most important person in this vid. Massive rEspect !
  • @eaturkishdude
Adam is going to be the unsung hero of this build. Wiring was definetly the most dificult part of this build so far and he got it done single-handedly. What a genius!

Tavarish is like Oppenheimer recruiting every specialist from the four corners of earth to create the atomic bomb of hyper cars.
  • @marl745
Cutting a 1of1 full carbon fiber bespoke body kit with a Home Depot tool is next level nasty Tavarish!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
  • Laser engineer here. That is a fibre optic laser, done by (coherently) combining several beams across a fibre bundle (which is a waveguide, like an antenna cable) because it's one of the most convenient ways to reach high laser powers using solid state means (as opposed to gas lasers). Metal vs oxide habe very different dielectric constants which means that the electric field across the interacting surface is uneven and will begin to etch away the rust and paint (if any) until the reflective surface is reached. The variation of E-H field (and charge) at the surface produces a quasiparticle called a plasmon, which can further transfer its momentum to the next layers of the material which is why the thing is so effective. The Avro 100W is a baby laser, for heavy corrosion in marine applications we're expecting 2kW ++ optical (and maybe 10-50kW electrical) At that power level, the amplifiers will not fit into a backpack form factor, and you'd clean your piece in 5 seconds, not a minute. The wavelength is around 1050 nm, beyond human range, but you get to see additional beams specular reflections and recombination, and silicon cameras will see it well, unless they have a filter glass

Adam is a LEGEND. Not to discredit anybody else's incredibly hard work but that wiring job he's doing is unreal.
  • Adam is an absolute genius. It cannot be understated how incredible what he is doing with the wiring actually is
  • @SDE90
I emplore you to re-wire and pin just ONE connector in your car. Adam is the 🐐 on this build, crazy work!
  • @EzleRS
My favorite thing about this series isn't just how brilliant Tavarish, Jack and his whole team are but also how amazing all of these experts he has who put their touch on it. I love seeing how these different unique jobs you normally wouldn't ever hear of that are artist at what they do. Amazing video like always tavarish. P.S ADAM IS A MONSTER! amazing!
  • @Rman1228
Adam, we are definitely going to make sure you get your deserved credit for redoing the entire wiring harness. This part of the build is really what puts the entire thing together, and what you're accomplishing is AMAZING
  • @lowerd1
Until somebody decides to rebuild a Duesenberg, this is hands down the greatest YouTube rebuild ever to me. Keep up the great work.
  • @KumarJha06
those healights looked like they were readyu to go in the P1 though they werent in the car the headlights still showed the emotion of happiness. A P1 which thought that it's journey was over in the flood was saved by a dude with a dream and must be glad to have his eyes back.
  • @engrmez
Enjoying the front row seats you are giving us
  • I know people get mad when Freddy doesn’t upload a P1 video, but this was well worth the wait, especially that ending
  • Very impressed with Freddie's metallurgical knowledge, The cars subframe is made from aluminium because it's British but the trailer is aluminum because it's American.
  • TAVARISH I THINK THIS THE MOST AMBITIOUS CAR PROJECT ON YOUTUBE EVER BROTHER CONGRATULATIONS YOU DID IT
