Hi I’m Steph! A DIYer, author, and podcast host. I live in Tallahassee, FL with my two adopted greyhounds. Both are retired racers adopted from Greyhounds as Pets in Jacksonville, FL.

If you want to hear about the impact Mac had on my life after one year, check out this podcast episode:

I adopted Mac in 2018, and she was born 2014. I adopted Tosh in 2020, and she was born 2017.

Together they are Mac & Tosh (yes, that is a reference to my favorite computer, the Macintosh)!

I make DIY videos here: youtube.com/motherdaughterprojects

Steph, you are such an inspiration! It's so nice to hear you talk about the same stuff I've been thinking about: I also REALLY want a dog - but much like yourself, I don't like the smell, the noise, the high energy levels and so on. Many sighthounds seem so perfectly balanced, they could be the ideal dog! I might adopt a galgo Español when we're ready for one. Not sure yet. But you're right, their looks take some getting used to. 😅 However, they are quite elegant and the fawn ones take my breath away - especially when they have a dark muzzle. 😍 Their size is something I'm a bit concerned about, though.
  • Your on the right track Steph. They will never let you down when things get tough.
  • Greyt to hear all this. My grey helped me also with my health just by having to take care of him not mention the joy of love.
  • Greyhounds are the best ❤❤❤. Love my girls. So happy your babies have helped with your depression. They're just so adorable and loving they make life worth living 🤗🐾🤗 xx
  • Thanks for sharing. The greys are lucky to have you. Wishing nothing but the best for you and your companions. Cheers
  • I was the same as you. My first dog was an ex-racing Greyhound. I never looked back. First of all the Greyhound groups are your family and you will have friends for a long time. I’ve been with the same group since 2004. Check to see if any Greyhound rescue organizations have Greyhound walks or events. We have lots here. Greyhounds are amazing. I have disabilities and needed a calm dog. Who would have guessed that the Greyhound is the best. I love the Greyhounds. Now that I’m a lot older I can’t lift a Greyhound if I should need to so now I have adopted Italian Greyhounds. And yes all Greyhounds are beautiful. You will not regret your decision. The one thing I did do with my fur babies and still do is attend the Blessing of the Animals which is held once a year in the oldest church in the city for St. Francis where you can bring your babies to be blessed. Check out your area. It’s absolutely wonderful regardless of your beliefs. ❤️🇨🇦
