  • @GIJENN
I just picked up two Athens Table Company side tables Item 792, dated 04/23/1975. Cleaned them, stripped them of all the goo, sanded, painted the legs and sealed the beautiful tops. Gorgeous!!
  • Nice jog down memory lane seeing so many familiar faces. A lot of people passed through there including myself.
  • Dad & Mom gave me two end tables over 40 years ago when I bought my first house.  One still has the Athens label stapled underneath.  They are still with me and showed their age.  Rather than discard them, just lately I disassembled them (successfully, without breaking anything), stripped the old finish, restained, and hand-rubbed multiple coats of polyurethane before re-assembling them.  Wish Dad and Mom could see them and I could thank them again.
  • my daddy worked his butt off in that place for about 30 yrs... all the way up til they closed the doors. if that place was still around, my daddy might still be living.. when that place closed, he gave up hope and was forced to retire early... now he has passed on..
  • Purchased a coffee table this morning at a yard sell with a tag stapled underneath it so came to look it up. Sorry to see this company is no longer in business. Great video and I love my new little table made by them!
  • Looks like a nice place to have had a working career. Good tunes! Got me a piece of furniture from this company at a pawn type store and was looking it up. Ended up here and enjoyed the video!
  • I was trying to find out when my Grandmother's six-sided table was made. The name is -stamped- underneath table. Athens Table Co Athens TN 440 Comb Wal & Mah Ant. is what is stamped beneath the table. The table 29 " tall and six-sided on top of table with six spindles legs. (Would attach pix if I could.) It is at least 55-63 years old. I cannot remember when it was not in her living room with her pictures and lamp on it.
  • I had a bad experience when working there back in 1994. So I'll spare the details. Suffice it to say they had plenty of lawsuits and people who got injured and would put pressure on you to quit if you got hurt the slightest. So I'm glad their gone.
  • i worked there years ago right before it closed kinda miss it
  • great choices of music. Enjoyed the slide show. My guess late 70's?
  • I have a curio cabinet that was my grand parents. Anyone know how i can find out how old it is???
