Correctional officer indicted on charge of negligent homicide in deadly training exercise

An Ohio corrections officer has been indicted on one count of negligent homicide in connection with the shooting death of another correctional officer during a training exercise in Pickaway County.

A grand jury there found that Operations Commander David Pearson was negligent in the firing of a Glock 34 handgun, killing Lt. Rodney Osborne.

The incident happened in April, during a training exercise at the Corrections Training Academy, near the Pickaway Correctional Institution.
