NEW Pokémon, Forms & Megas for Pokémon Legends Z-A!

My biggest hope is that we still get regional forms and cross-gen evolutions. New Megas are great, but I don't want ONLY new Megas. I still want a normal cross-gen evolution for Mightyena, but I'd take a Mega Mightyena. France has material to pull from, like the Rougarou and the Beast of Gévaudan.

I think dusty is describing the bond phenomenon that Ash had with Greninja. I bet every pokemon could tap into something if it's close to its trainer.

It‘s not "Zeta", "Zedda", "Zed to A" (although I like that one) or whatever in Japanese. It‘s "Zetto-E" in Japanese, which literally is just "Zed-A". No idea where Lumiosepost got the Zedda from. It‘s just Z-A spoken as Zed-A.

I think it will be the present day because if you look at the beginning you can see in the drawing the people are wearing modern clothes and later you can see a trainer throwing a pokemon at a dragonair. Edit: After rewatching the trailer, I noticed you can see what looks like a lady on her phone at a table.

1:46 depends on which English speaking country you come from. I pronounce the 26th letter as Zed, so my brain goes Zed-Ay, rather than Zee-Ay. And Zed-Ay happens to land closer to the assertion that it is supposed to be Zeta.

OK, so if it doesn’t matter that Torchic’s line already has a mega, I think that we should take in to consideration that there could definitely be, at least I don’t think y’all have said this yet, that we could get regional forms that also get mega evolutions. This is the perfect opportunity for them to do something crazy like that and I don’t think that it’s completely out of the question. 41:26 also, I think they keep putting Fletchling’s evolution line in the games because that is what they’ve chosen to be the national Pokémon representing the chicken for France and the Fletchling line for Kalos. It was the first Pokémon you see in the morning when it wakes you up in the intro cutscene to XY games. Also, speech to text sucks and I had to come back to edit the crap out of this line of thought. Besides megas returning (which i hope only deserving mons get them), i want pokemon to still receive regular evos, like arbok, ariados, maybe new eevelutions, hawlucha

Maybe the canonical reason Zygarde never interferred with the threats in neighboring regions is because it has full faith in the trainers that rise up and stop it unlike in the past where Zygarde thinks he can handle whatever the threat will be in the Legends game by himself, only to realize that by teaming up with the main character, they can save the world which is what the overarching theme of Legends is.

Battle Bond being retconned to, one, remove Ash-Greninja entirely, and two, remove the Water Shuriken boost (which was directly homaging what Ash-Greninja did in the anime) points to a new Mega Greninja, I think. There’s just no way Game Freak leaves the Kalos Starters as is, a trio of new Mega Evolutions just makes a lot more sense.

I’m imagining something similar to Bioshock: Infinite when I saw the trailer, like taking place in primarily one era, either future or past, but the time distortion/paradox tears appear randomly throughout the city. And you’re either investigating past events to figure out the plot and maybe even causing time to change in the modern day, or vice versa. Like shoe buckle paradox stuff

The starters will be Piplup, Snivy and Litten because that's the only combination that fits the aesthetic of France as well as a nice variation of types. Empoleon represents French military/politics. Serperior represents the French Royals and upper class lifestyle. And Litten could have a regional variant based on the PARISian cat, which would represent the church/religion/Notre Dame. All three are primed for variants more exclusive to French history that makes each aspect of it shine. The names of all three also fit the themes they'd represent. A political Empoleon as in Napoleon. A high class Serperior as in Superiority. And a priest-like Incineroar as in "living in Sin". Imagine a fluffy incineroar thats on all fours, lazy and "priest" like. . And then halfway through the game they'll give us Gen 6 starters with Mega evolutions like we got Kanto starters in XY.

Around 1:09:00 ish you guys talk about the Tapu's / How people think they might be added due to them not being in Gen 9. I like this theory especially because we've randomly seen Tapu Koko get a ton of love in the TCG the past few sets. Would love to see them return!

42:09 I think, and HoopsandHipHop and MandJTV agree, that it will be Snivy, Scorbunny and Piplup. French, Napoleon and Soccer. I know Torchic works well but I do think the fact that Blaziken already has a Mega would affect their decision. And I would hope that they would be self aware enough to realize that Mega Incineroar is a terrible idea.
