  • I offer you the FOLLOWING EVIDENCE: My husband beat diabetes in 10 months. His HBA1C dropped from 11.4 to 5.2% . His doctor was shocked. He did not intermittent fast but ate extremely low carb breakfasts......high protein at every meal....low carb lunches....and the most carbs at dinner. I agree with the style of eating that Thomas details here. As for me....I have lost 30 lbs. eating the same way but included lots of intermittent fasting. We did NOT count macros or restrict calories at all. We did not feel deprived. We dont exercise as much as we should...We are 61 and 64 and on no medications.👍

So many factors are overlooked. Working out does way more than people realize

The most important thing to realize with these studies is that they don't consider endurance athletes vs gym rats. I simply cannot and do not eat the same when I am riding my bike or surfing for hours a day vs just doing moderate cardio and lifting weights. And it will be another huge difference if we are talking desk jockeys that have a lethargic lifestyle.

51: I've decided that I want to keep my small waistline. I've discovered(this summer by accident) that my sweet spot is eating at 11a.m. (fasted fitness) and at 4/5p.m. Two meals (50to60g protein each meal) no snacks or consume snack food with my meal, so I don't miss the small treat.
  • Mediterranean people also walk a ton more than Americans. Their cities are designed for walking. Exercise quantity and type matters regarding carbs. And women, for sure, we must carb cycle because of estrogen / progesterone fluctuations. Love Thomas always. ❤🙏🏼

Interesting info. Recently I cut carbs big time and my sleep has suffered.

If I’m hungry, I eat. If I’m hungry at night, I eat. I just don’t eat carbs. In fact, more often than not it’s sat fat heavy. I’m not restricting carbs.

Many years ago, I attended meditation training. It was a kind of Buddhist organization with Shaolin elements. What left an impression on me is that they eat (and they also fed us students that way), only breakfast from 6:30-7:00, and lunch from 11:30 - 12:00. Nothing more until the next day! We woke up at 4 in the morning. And not only are you limited to these two meals, but the portions are limited as well. I would say that they are fed in a calorie-restrictive and time-limited manner for a period of 4.5 hours. Of course, bedtime is 8-9 p.m. After that training, I read that Shaolin monks are long-lived and healthy people. As for diet, she was an omnivore, not processed, with plenty of vegetables.

Does anyone else see the bug crawling along the side of the bowl at 3:57? Extra protein? This is a great channel btw and obviously that is a stock video :)
  • I need to eat at least a quarter cup of whole grains or some type of carb at night or I won't sleep well
  • @KkatsPhotos
Just curious if you are using your Lumen still, if you are eating your carbs at dinner, do you still wake up in fat burn with a one or two?
  • @kevystead
Love the content and advice. Here's a question.. How does one manage proper diet and nutrition with work life? I work days, but also nights on weekends with bands. During the week I do the day shift, sleep nights and am "normal" But weekends. Start work at 9 or 10 and am done by 2am and home by 4am.. very different if you don't have consistant scheduals

Carbs at night makes me a monster in the morning: I feel the need to eat everything in the fridge. I don't because I'm disciplined, but it's the worst feeling.
  • I eat all of my food during the day and stop eating around 2:00 pm. I’m never hungry in the evening. When I started doing this I was kind of wondering if I would want to eat or if it would affect my sleep, but it’s working for me. I do drink water, plain teas and black decaf coffee after I start my fast so I think that helps as well.

Thomas just found out I have kidney cancer what do you recommend food and nutrition wise. Love your channel.
