Lilo isn’t wrong about pudge the fish. It’s related to the native folk mythos, that that species of fish were once messengers of gods and that one of their kind had enough power to create storms. Lilo and Nani lost their parents due to a bad storm with flash flooding. Lilo is traumatized not of water but of storms. This just makes people like LILO’s bully even less

The Easter egg here (1:55) is even neater when you take in the fact that both Mulan and Lilo & Stitch were produced at Disney Animation’s Florida unit. Completely seperate from their normal unit in California. 2 of only 3 three movies to have been made there.
