you forgot his biggest achievement . Winning European Championship ( national teams) with a country that no-one thought had 1% of chance of winning (at age 18...he already got legendary status in his country for doing impossible). And currently he is leading Slovenia to its first basketball medal on olympics.

The fact that people doubted him was truly absurd, like he had a basketball hall of fame worthy career before he even played he`s first minute of NBA basketball

I live in Madrid and after watching this video wanna pinpoint a couple of things. In Real Madrid Luka's minutes where fully limited in the early years with pro team, staff knew about his potential but they knew Luke needed to full develope his body and game with pros and specially try to humble Luka. He was 16 and nobody want him to make wrong choices. He was learning under the wings of some of the best spanish players ever including former NBA players as Rudy Fernández (Portland, Denver) and Sergio Rodríguez (Portland, Sacramento). Only when he was almost 18 and the team was plagued with injuries, the coaches gave him the wheel and let him play with no time restrictions and command the team, rest is history.
  • Ik his game is mainly iq, but idk why people act like this man isn’t athletic. He bulldoze you when he drives he’s actually really strong. He has a quick first step and hides the ball good. That and he has a nice handle and can get anywhere on the court

That sideline moment with Kobe was so wholsome and making me sad, that legend is gone. Kobe spoke in Slovenian, that made Luka turn around... :)
  • @aaronvilla3824
He really just needs a co-star and it’s over for the league
  • @peterscott3205
I think those who allowed him to mature on the sidelines with limited play at Real Madrid contributed to his development

As a European fan I feel like I should add some things: Luka is not the most successful or most decorated Euroleague player, but that's normal, considering he had a relatively short EL career. Most of Europe knew he was special. Not a lot of teenagers make the roster of the teams like Real Madrid. I have no idea how NBA analysts sceptical of Luka overlooked the fact, that pretty most of the top European prospects drafted into the NBA were considered raw prospects in the Euroleague - Dirk, Parker, Giannis, Jokic, Bargnani - did not achieve anything in Europe, didn't play for the big clubs. There are exceptions, of course, like Pau Gasol. Now compare that to Luka's resume: MVP, final 4 MVP, champion, EuroBasket champion. Kid won everything in a couple of seasons. And yet, some ""analysts"" still doubted him.
  • 1 year away and this video need an update. Luka made it to the west conference finals. Hats off!
  • Luka Doncic - a mixture of confidence, arrogance and undeniable talent! NBA Legend in the making!
  • @DarkoBukovec
His father was also very good pro basketball player in Slovenia.
  • @DuffsDingle
Luka still has 6 years before his prime. He’s gonna be a beast when he’s 28
  • @brettrossi034
It's crazy to think that a guy who is merely just 21 years old has as much experience as he does. He doesn't have a 21 year old aura and he feels much more mature. Hats off to him
  • @mbengaful
He was barely getting minutes at Real Madrid? He played his first minutes when he was 16 and was basically the leader of the team at 18.
  • @GoraAmalurra
16 years old and in ACB (Spain) everybody knew he was very special ...when went to NBA, everybody knew he'd take some minutes.....but being Mvp level?!... Nobody expected that...Crazy evolution
  • Here after Luka absolutely embarrassed the Suns in the 2022 playoffs. Even though he missed the finals I think it’s inevitable that he makes it there very soon.
  • @Nico-dv7bq
The american press underrating Doncic and saying that he wasn't number 1 pick material had me laughing to tears on his draft season. There's a premium sports channel down here in S. America that broadcasts ACB and Euroleague games, and with a couple of matches you could see that Luka was going to be the top prospect of the decade and a future HOFer.
  • @sijcecilio
I'm also 22 but I'm just an NPC.. he's the main character
  • You have to add how every quarter is 2 mins shorter in European ball to put those stats into context. 8 mins less to put up numbers
