Vintage lanterns often have the burner rusted in place and without knowing how it's supposed to be removed you might damage it. Here, I show how the burner from a common Canadian GSW (General Steel Wares) kerosene lantern is removed. Other lantern brands / models may be removed in a different way though. Embury lanterns are often very difficult.

    What fuel does it use? I have exact same one (albeit a little rusty)? And are you supposed to be able to free turn the wick dial? Mine seems to stop.

    What is a reasonable price to pay for on of these? I would like to have one at found an identical “beacon” lantern forsale. Seller is asking $35
