Xinjiang, an autonomous territory in northwest China, is a vast region of deserts and mountains. It's home to many ethnic minority groups, including the Turkic Uyghur people. The ancient Silk Road trade route linking China and the Middle East passed through Xinjiang, a legacy that can be seen in the traditional open-air bazaars of its oasis cities, Hotan and Kashgar.

The so-called genocide in Xingjiang is the increase in the Uyghur population from 4.33 million in 1949 to 12.5 million now. The so-called democracy and freedom means that the number of first nations in the United States initially decreased from 50 million to only 2.9 million in 2010.

The old city of Kashgar used to be a large shantytown, but in 2009 the government funded a renovation, which led to the present prosperity and clean and comfortable environment.The people have also greatly improved their lives because of tourism.

So nice that you got to interact with local people at your night walk. The West says that China is killing the Uighur culture, but we see that the culture, including the language, the music, the food and the architecture are preserved.

Enjoy the beautiful Kashigar! Funny fact is the US movie, The Kite Runner, which is a story happened in Afghanistan, was filmed in the old town in Kashigar. The reason is that old town in Afghanistan was destroyed during the war. Another funny thing is US politics are accusing the film as promoting China.

This is why a lot of us in Asia love pre-wedding photography so much. Isn't it just so much fun to play dress-up for the day and get professional photos taken? You two look amazing in those traditional dresses. George and his team did a great job.
