This is heartbreaking. Condolences don't help those people, but I hope those who've lost homes and property get the help they need. Even those who are spared nearby also go through an awful lot. Fires are terrifying.

Why would someone ever set a car on fire, roll it down a canyon and set off a huge fire? Poor people in this area have to deal with losing their homes and fire crews have to be brought it. Really sad 😢

Oh I remember the Santa Rosa fire 😢 It was terrible one of the worst fires in California. Such a beautiful place with so much loss. 😢

Hope that wasn't Chip he got out just four months ago and lives in that area,he started a fire burn down a few houses and a building,he's related to some judge and only got five years with counseling probation,it was crazy a woman saw him on a jogging trail pouring gasoline,his defense claimed it was ice tea he carries Ice tea in a fuel container he said because it keeps cool longer,I'm not kidding, firefighters said if the wind shifted it would of been uncontainable because he started it on the hills.

Sadly a lot of cali fires turn out to be arson

The catalytic converter on the car likely set the dry vegetation under the car on fire which then ignited the car.
