Imagine making your £675 speeding ticket into a £11,000 one because you wanted to try to prove the judge wrong 💀
  • @justinpaoli
12 in an 8 zone??!! These racers were out of control! That is reckless!
  • @scripss
Exceeding the speed limit by 100% in Denmark, the police can seize your car on the spot. Even foreigners, we just had a Norwegian get his Lamborghinemaschine taken last year.

Dude paid 12k to avoid jail and keep his license. Money really does make the world go round.

Day 434 of asking James to do an Up to Speed on his Dad
  • @MikeLeonard
Love to see James solo riffing straight into the camera again. I miss Up to Speed.

13:19 I remember that one episode in Top Gear when someone got a speeding ticket for doing like 210+ in a 65 MPH zone in a "Bugatti 2 door". That segment stuck with me to this day.
  • @parker73724
When you're going over 100 mph I don't think your speedometer not working is a very strong excuse.

As a Canadian I can confirm that we do not call jail the “goose trap”
  • @I_THE_ME
11:31 That would not buy you a G wagon in Finland as those go for over 350k €.
  • @4RILDIGITAL
Intriguing to see how serious the penalties can be for speeding, especially in places like Finland where fines are based on income. Safe driving is essential.
  • @MrArchoir
In most cases, punishable by fine basically means legal for rich people. So I like finland's approach
  • @ImJustAlex_
As a Finn, I love hearing James pronounce Finnish names.
  • @brandon-kg2vd
I could've sworn they had already done an episode about expensive traffic tickets
  • @T4gProd
I'm like 30 seconds in and I know Finland is going to mentioned. I also know that there will be so many people out there commenting, who do not understand day fines. THEY ARE THE HOURS YOU WORK! If you make any sort of salary, you get fined for 50% of your pay for a number for some days so for serious violations with a car. The money has nothing to with it! It's just the hours of the day you spend working halved! Minor speeding and other minor violations just come with a fixed 70€ fine.

As a Canadian, I have never heard jail called “the goose coop.”
  • @Gr00t
The speeding tickets based on income is actually genius.
