  • Just decided to learn how to draw. The part about learning how to see basic shapes sounds like good advice, thanks.
  • A great reminder about the importance of simplifying (which is important for even those of us who have been drawing for some time!)

I wish while drawing on the screen you would post the actual item you are looking at for all to see. This would help.

Basic shapes really help when you’re drawing. Thanks for making this video. ✏️

I spent all day today making shapes and warping them in any direction, by the end of the day i put them together and got myself my first "real" attempt at making a human body! its very exciting! so exciting that all i see now is "hmm that is a square, thats a circle" and its currently 5.30am and i cant sleep cuz i cant stop thinking of SHAPES.

Simplifying everything is the epitome of my learning process, I’ve gotten decent at drawing because of simplification of the thing I’m drawing
  • Two good examples: pencil sharpener and bird. I notice that the basic shapes are not erased when details are added, and that implies very light strokes to start with. Well worth watching.

Awesome video! Not only for those who are learning to draw, but also for those who (like me) wish to revisit the fundamentals.

This was really good for beginners. Thank you. I'm a lil bit more advanced but I can share this with friends.
  • two things to take notice is the angle of the object you're looking at and the adjusting of the right size of elements within an object
