This is still one of my favorite cinemassacre videos, along with the “Rocky Jumped a Park Bench”

For the Ghostbusters 2 sign, though it was designed to advertise the film, in the sign in-universe is actually explainable.  Though the "peace sign" hand gesture is associated with peace in the 1960s, the hand gesture was actually used in the 1940s in World War II.  In fact, the hand gesture at that time was associated with "victory", as Churchill was seen flashing it.  So, for in-universe purposes, and considering the new sign is put up after the court scene where the Ghostbusters' restraining order from practicing paranormal study and entrapment was lifted, the "peace sign" the ghost is flashing on the sign may actually be a "victory sign" (as they have won their right to go back into business once again).  Now that I've mentioned this, it probably makes more sense now in regards to the in-universe explanation for the sign's existence (fun fact: in the Ghostbusters: The Video Game, when you start to head down to the basement area of the firehouse, there's a door across the way from the stairs.  If you walk up to it, and look through it, you can see the Ghostbusters 2 sign and the Ghosbusters 2 Ecto-1A doors in what appears to be a storage area).

Best GB NY locations documentary ever

This was well done. I have been to most of those spots, but this was awesome stringing them together in editing.

7:02 I love that James genuinely mistook what he said.....that or he's a better actor then we give him credit for XD
  • Love the Seinfeld reference as soon as I saw part of the sign I knew exactly where you were

“But The real heroes of NYC is in here” wow man, a true acknowledgment of the job the FDNY do 🙏🙏

I was in New York on holiday for a week last week, and I took the time to see many of the locations featured in this video. It raised a smile seeing them again in this video.
  • You guys are awesome. thank you for doing this! I was at the theater in 1984 when Ghostbusters premiered, it was fantastic to see on the big screen. Greta movie, I could watch over and over.
  • The second part of that opening has better acting than the actual AVGN movie. Lol
  • @tommyc4641
So great to see all the locations! Really gets me in nostalgia feels 😁

I love this video :D 4:36 They did such a great job making a scaled down version of New York for that shot. I think Ivan Reitman said that everything was 1/16th scale in the film's commentary track. Also Harold Ramis said that the water that shoots up into the air is actually sand, because water doesn't scale down. It looks soooo good though. 6:46 Yeah they definitely didn't do their research, because they have Gozer fighting you, and also climbing the side of the building as Stay Puft at the same time. lol Also, i remember they misspelled Gozer as Gorza. I remember that was in the AVGN video too :D

Love this video and shocked I've only just found it! I went to New York in 2017 and visited most of these myself but the firestation was under maintenance and was covered in scaffolding! I was gutted but still cool to be there.
  • This is such a cool video! I love it :) I moved here to NYC 2 years ago and every time I walk past the Ghostbusters fire house on North Moore St I get some serious childhood nostalgia lol. Growing up my older brother had the Ghostbusters firehouse toy and we used to play with that thing all the time. Even though I wasn't born until the late 80s, so I was a little late to the Ghostbusters party, but DAMN I grew up loving those movies 👻👻👻🗽
