I like how the two people, even in competition, are usually nice to each other, while still being happy and confident about their own blades.

I love that when a blade breaks, instead of being arrogant, fellow contestants are respectful and the judges give real advice on how to improve their smithing. Any other reality show about peoples talents would get ridiculed, possibly laughed at, and get 0 constructive criticism.
