    J&K new idioms that I learnt today- 1. Jump out of one's skin- to suddenly become extremely scared or surprised 2. Jump on the bandwagon- to support or follow a trend or popular opinion 3. Jump off the page- to be very noticeable or prominent 4. Jump in feet first- to enter a situation with enthusiasm & without hesitation 5. Jack of all trades- versatile 6. Jog your memory- to cause someone to remember something suddenly 7. Jump to conclusion- to reach a decision quickly without enough evidence 8. Jury is still out- a situation where a decision has not yet been made or is undecided 9. Jewel in the crown- a valuable possesion or asset 10. Jeer at - to mock or ridicule someone 11. Jangle someone's nerves/get into someone's nerves- to annoy or irritate someone 12. Jaw drops- to be shocked or surprised 13. Jaundiced eyes- to be prejudiced 14. Jot down- to write something quickly and informally 15. Judas kiss- a treacherous act of betrayal disguised as an act of friendship or loyalty 16. Jump down your throat- scold/speak angrily to someone 17. Jump the gun- Start something too soon or act hastily 18. Knuchle head- a foolish or stupid person 19. Kangaroo court- A cpurst that operates without proper justice or fairness 20. Keep under your hat/under wraps- hide something from others 21. Keep a level head- remain calm & rational in difficult situations 22. Keep your body & soul together- to earn sufficient amount of money for survival 23. Keep an eye on- watching or monitoring something closely 24. Know the ropes- to understand the details 25. Kitty corner- a place that is daigonally opposite to the given place 26. Keep your chin up- to stay cheerful and bad times 27. Keep the wolf from the door / keep the wolf from bay- avoid starvation 28. Keep abreast of- keep oneself updated 29. Kick the bucket- to die 30. Keep at bay - to control something & prevent it from causing you problems 31.keep the pot boiling- to maintain interest 32. Keep count of something- to remember or record of something 33. Kick up a row- cause a disturbance 34. Keep up appearance- to pretend to be happier or richer so as to conceal the real situation 35. Keep a civil tongue- speak with great politeness 36. Keep one's powder dry- to be ready for the challenge or little warning 37. Kettle of fish- a real mess 38. Knuckle sandwich - A punch in the mouth 39. Keep tabs on - to keep under observation 40.
