Explosions have reportedly hit a Russian airbase far from the Ukrainian border, damaging two long-range bombers. Unverified videos of the blasts have been posted on a variety of Telegram channels.
The blasts early Monday struck the airbase near the city of Engels, more than 600 kilometers inside Russian territory. The bombers damaged are said to be of the same type used to carry out airstrikes on Ukraine's infrastructure. Another explosion hit a military base near the Russian city of Ryazan. At least three people were reportedly killed after a fuel tank exploded. So far there has been no claim of responsibility for either of the blasts.

It is fascinating how these statistically unlikely "accidents" occur almost simultaneously and only to military targets.

Not a counterattack, just a special fuel tank action.
  • @FelisTerras
I wouldn't be surprised, if they discovered that the explosions were caused by conscripts, who didn't want to end up as canon fodder

Russia needs better signs designating no smoking areas.
  • What does Russia expect , for Ukraine to standby and let these bombers bomb their power supplies, hospitals and civilians ???
  • Ukraine to Russia: "You're not as immune to deep strikes as you think you are. Think on that when you launch another wave of cruise missiles at us."

Russians: Where is our air defense? A: We used it to attack ground targets in Ukraine.
  • Russia's face-saving lines: "Actually, we're so incompetent that we blew it up ourselves."

Thank you Thank you Thank you for whoever responsible.
  • Finally. The Russian border should not be respected until it works both ways.

I'm looking forward to Russia's statement condemning Ukraine for conducting a war in the middle of a war.

This was bound to happen at some point, no matter how often their suppliers advised them otherwise. What were their allies going to do, stop supplying?
  • Finally. The Russian border should not be respected it works both ways.. It's wonderful and symbolic. 💯👏
  • I was completely distracted by the news reader, but this really shows how barbaric the "targeted" strikes of Russia on Ukrainian infrastructure really is. You can clearly take out a target without blowing up a school or hospital.
