  • I used your fan tape trick didn't expect to work this good. Now I'm thinking about doing the heat pipe stuff.
  • @adzol
Nice video! Which are the thermal improvements? Benchmark in the description is not about just this mod.

Do you have any tips for new Matebook 13? I still don't know what to choose - X Pro or 13 ($1200 vs $1300 now). I know Matebook 13 is more powerful device (CPU and GPU), but how much worse is it in terms of battery life, sound and screen?
  • Bro, you really did perfect here, you got the maximum result with little effort, congratulations! Personally i own a Dell Latitude 5290 2 in 1 and i would really like to make such a mod on my device! Being it precisely a 2 in 1, i think i have little room for action. What do you think about? Could you give me some advice on this please?
  • You should use Thermalright TF-X or SYY-157 thermal paste. Thermar grizzly pumps out of die when your temps are above 80*C.

Hoping to do this for my Lenovo T530. Other configurations like the DGPU version and W530 have three heat pipes whereas mine has only one. Unfortunately the mounting holes above the CPU are different between one heat pipe and three heat pipe coolers
  • sir one thing can you customize the back cover where there is the part of the fan and dig some little holes on it does it help?
  • Where did you got these heat pipes and thermal glues and did you customize the heat pipes? Nice video btw.
  • same as the other video i commented, can you do a heat test before and after too? This DIY adding heatpipes or adding thermal pads is nice, but does it really help reduce the heat before few degree Celsius ?
  • Did it also help with lowering the temp.? Mine stays around 38-44C when streaming on chrome. Will it help to lower further down?
  • yo Brad Ling do y ou do phone modification as well? I was wonder cause i'm planning to mod my huawei y7 prime 2018 phone and add a thermal paste and a heat sink to maximized the gaming performance and maybe overclock it. Thanks
  • Hey Brad, what do you think of using strips of graphite sheet in place of the heat pipes to the fan?
  • @CzMnHD
Drilling massive hole to rear cover and installing low profile desktop watercooler is the best way my brotha. cooling pad that is also drilled so the laptop stays straight. no thermal compound so easy to remove cooler after gaming. Do a video about this you will be amazed. take 5v from usb to fan and pump.
  • Hi brad, im wondering, where can i buy those thermal glue? and,is the thermal glue and heatsink plaster is just the same?
