Today we're unboxing the QHY Polemaster and how to install it on your mount.

The QHY Polemaster isn't a necessary tool. But if you'd like to have more time to image on those short, few and far between, clear nights then you need to get one of these. The hardware is easy to install and the software is too. And the software walks you through each step of the process to make sure you are aligned perfectly every time.

It used to take me 30-45 minutes to get my mount polar aligned, and I was never really sure how accurate I was. Now, I'm down to under 4 minutes with the QHY Polemaster and I know that I'm spot on with my alignment.

The reason for the mount adapter is to be able to use the Polemaster with multiple mounts without having it permanently connected...;-)

Don, so glad to see it isn't only me that can put something down and within 2 milliseconds I have lost it, was thinking it was "age related" but would seem that even you young ones suffer it too!!! and thanks for a good explanation video,

Good explanation, question though, isn't an Ipolar better because is does Platesolving ? For me I can't see the north starr because my house is blocking it, so I am looking for an alternative solution, if you have an idea ?
  • I lose stuff all the time. Sometimes for just a few minutes and sometimes for weeks. I sometimes suspect there's an invisible gremlin hiding my stuff as a joke on me. ((-:
