"In a Forest Dark" is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Mário Pereira (Eternal Mourning). This black metal project incorporates elements of gothic doom and dark influences. "OBSIDIAN VEINS" is the second single from the upcoming album, "Heart of Darkness," set to be released in 2024. The album is a conceptual piece based on Conrad's book of the same name.

Obsidian veins, dark and pure,
Into the heart of darkness, they allure,
A ravenous hunger, an insatiable fire,
Blinding the path, entangling desire.

Veins of black, a treacherous tide,
A chasm where hope dares not dwell,
Nurturing seeds of decay, towards the void,
The essence of humanity's endless call.

If the poison runs too deep,
Pure evil within the heart may seep.

Obsidian veins
They won’t get you free.

In each heartbeat, a predator lies in wait,
Like a silent hunter, it bides its time to strike.
