"Within the Stream" A VEL Sensory Lyrical Production By Vanessa Leanage for all of my platforms 🦋💫

Inspiration for this piece : I went for a walk—one of my last long walks, to a beautiful stream that was full and flowing as crows followed me squawking beautifully in their amazingly intelligent language. I was looking for springs delicious edible ferns called fiddleheads.
As I stood watching and listening to the water flow by, a large raccoon was washing food in the stream. They, very slowly, climbed up the bank of the river and made their way along the pathway that I too had just taken—one that winds in a natural flow within the forest, between the trees for centuries inside the beautifully balanced ecosystems of old, new and middle-aged trees and other magical beings.🌱🧚♀️
I found remnants of an old building and spent a little time daydreaming about the people who lived in this beautiful area that has now become a park in a city. I dreamt/envisioned another time and place when I lived along the riverbank in the forest. It's my favourite place to live; under a canopies of trees, listening to the wind blow their branches and leaves and hearing the ocean or lake or stream flowing inside earth. I was lucky to live my dream for a short time and I know I will again. #💚
🦋Vanessa has been writing on "X"[Twitter ] since 2013. Meeting great friends and fellow writers and poets inspired her to expand onto other platforms where she’s created variety of pieces including vocals, spokenwords, poetry and music to her numerous videos.
🦋She was taught to read and write by family, already speaking poetically by the age of two. Later in life her haiku and tanka poetry has been published multiple times, most recently in 5 anthologies and online.
*m🦋 Vanessa demonstrated continued flexibility and perseverance throughout her life and physical disabilities by utilizing her creativity to discover new ways to explore, learn and grow despite physical barriers that continued to add up over the years as a result of multiple traumas during her childhood. Our vessel is a miraculous life form. Her physical Injuries didn't reveal themselves until much later in life when she was working hard towards her goals.
🦋 Vanessa's connection to God, the divine, the creator, the unknown, her spirituality and Nature [one] grew significantly because of her decision, following every tragedy and injustice, to remain true to herself, no matter what the consequences. " It’s been a solitary journey. I've been blessed with many miracles. I've been blessed in equal measure to balance it all out." 💫
🦋From childhood until recently when her health has taken an abrupt turn, Vanessa has been a strong advocate for all beings in every way possible. “Authenticity is a human right." V.L
🦋Despite ALL odds, Vanessa still inspires others with her light, advocacy, powerful energy, sharing stories of resilience, determination & demonstrated love for all beings. She continues to find joy and beauty especially through animals and nature as well as some very beautiful and enduring friendships that withstood too many moves!
Her landscapes, nature, animals, pets and architectural building paintings have hung in many galleries, museums while she was able to paint. Vanessa painted live during festivals so people could watch the process— a challenge she courageously took on as an introvert. Her first attempt at making a sculpture proved not only fun but also was rewarded.: “ Colour Takes Form” — I name her late stepmother came up with, was chosen out of thousands of entries —seven counties wide, to be included in the McLaren Art Galleries Colour Exhibition in 2005. It was only one of two sculptures and one of 60 pieces excepted by the Ontario gallery.
🦋 She was also a photographer, papermaker, sculpture, print maker and a Goldsmith—this made up the main part of her educational studies with a loving dash of psychology, advocacy & counselling training. Vanessa's love and strong aptitide for medicine, spirituality and psychology never left her. Every day, she studies them for fun and as her hobbies. Nature has always been her Muse. She never needed another one.
