S3000 vs MPC 3000. You know the rules.
We got two samples, sampled in 33rpm, 45rpm and 78rpm.

What do You guys think about it?

I recorded every sample with the same cables, same needle, same record and same level - so the differences between them result from the fact that they are different samplers - this also applies to volume!

To record this samples on S3000 and MPC 3000 I use:

Turntable Reloop RP-7000 with Ortofon Nightclub MK2
Mixer Pioneer DJM-T1

So the legend come true. Both sound identical for me. S3000 the poor mans MPC3000!
  • @LokarBeats
I was skeptical but it's True... It would seem that they sound identical. Obviously S3000 has no sequencer but on the other hand it has a large display, with a waveform that facilitates chopping, mute group, and is also excellent for sound design. Thanks for the demo !
  • @OSTeez
They sound absolutely the same IMO... I got an S3200 and love how it warm up the sound !
  • If you want the MPC 3000 sound without the cost, S3000 all the way. Any slight differences can be fixed in the mix.

There's bit more low end on MPC.Super subtle but still noticeable.
  • These videos are great. Really cool to hear comparison of this classic gear showcased in a way that people really use it.

Mpc seems a lil bit punchier for me but pitch algorithms sound identical. Nice video! Thanks a lot! Will you make the mpc 2000 vs s 3000 comparison?
  • Very interesting, thank you for the work. ! To go further, because part of the MPC sound is how the sounds are blending together when played together, and the enveloppes as well, it would be very appreciated if you can do a song (or just a beat) into the MPC with various samples, load the file into the S3000 and do a comparison between the 2 units playing the same song/beat. I’m really curious about the behaviour of the S3000. IT WOULD BE SO APPRECIATED !

watching my RTA scope and listening on a pair of Genelec's in a treated room, these are super similar, but the MPC3000 has a bit more in the 60hz range and a slightly more low end saturated sound making it just a bit thicker overall. It's so subtle though that no one is really going to notice unless they are nerds like me.
  • I dont hear any major difference they sound the same. It so crazy that people think im trolling when i say that. Some people write whole essaye how much dufference they hear its crazy.
  • @karimalloul3809
For me too it sound identical I dream of the mpc 3000 your vidéo makes me want to buy an s 3000
  • Nice comparison. Do you have any tips for sampling into the S3000? Which gain switch on the rear? I have tried low and medium and the level seems really low after recording, but the input meter is just below the red.
