The Walt Disney Company was originally founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt and Roy O. Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio; it also operated under the names The Walt Disney Studio and Walt Disney Productions before officially changing its name to The Walt Disney Company in 1986. The company established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before diversifying into live-action film production, television, and theme parks.
Since the 1980s, Disney has created and acquired corporate divisions in order to market more mature content than is typically associated with its flagship family-oriented brands. The company is known for its film studio division, The Walt Disney Studios, which includes Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios, 20th Century Animation, and Searchlight Pictures. Disney's other main business units include divisions in television, broadcasting, streaming media, theme park resorts, consumer products, publishing, and international operations. Through these various segments, Disney owns and operates the ABC broadcast network; cable television networks such as Disney Channel, ESPN, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic; publishing, merchandising, music, and theater divisions; direct-to-consumer streaming services such as Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Hotstar; and Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, a group of 14 theme parks, resort hotels, and cruise lines around the world. Cartoon character Mickey Mouse, created in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks, serves as the company's official mascot.

Till 2006 No one could reach "THE LION KING"🔥🔥🔥🔥
  • @acuman99.9
As a 90s baby I'm proud Lion King held out as long as it did. Remember Who You are Are!
  • Johnny Depp Delivered the first Billion Dollar Movie for Disney with Pirates 2 in 2006! 2007: Pirates 3 (961Mio.) 2010: Alice in Wonderland (1.025B) 2011: Pirates 4 (1.045B) 2017: Pirates 5 (800Mio.) He made about 5 Billion for that company in just the Box Office With dvd sales and merchandise sales it would be way more… They use his character (Captain Jack Sparrow) all around the world in their theme parks And they dropped him after some false accusations… What a joke Disney has become!
  • Star Wars episode VII: you can't defeat me Avengers infinity war: no i know, but he can *Avengers endgame join the chat*
  • The 90s: Classic, obvious animated films The 2000s: New genres, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. The 2010s: Superhero films begin taking over, Star Wars returns and kills it, live action remakes
  • @mariutunio
I like how The Lion King disappeared from the top 10 only to return in its second form.

1994 lion king: chilling in first place Pirates of the caribbean: gets in first place after Avengers: on your left Star Wars VII: I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND ENDGAME:
  • In my opinion, the Lion King was and still is one of the best movies ever made.
  • I love Frozen and Frozen 2 Proud of it that frozen catches second place when it releases ❄️
  • @Aryan-iu4mv
So the overall beasts were Avengers Star wars The lion King Pirates of the Caribbean PS - None showed the growth as much as the lion king. Especially 1994 one. And 2019 one also held it's own against endgame so HUGE RESPECT.
  • @nazzy260
Love how Lion King stayed on the list until 2017
  • Really showcases how massive hits Lion King and Dead Man’s Chest were and how Frozen holds its own as the sole “not building on a previous movie” entry in the final tally.
  • @rjtavares1480
The Lion King was once the 2nd highest-grossing movie ever (without adjusting for inflation) behind Jurassic Park
  • @samuelnixon3868
People have to remember that the amounts are not altered for inflation. If lion King was altered for inflation from 1994-2019 then its gross would be $1,701,300,502 putting it fourth on the list, which is incredibly impressive for an animated movie
  • @electro_fn.
