Super Woden GP2 is a Top Down Racer but in a fast paced 3D style and despite looking quite arcady, the cars really feel heavy, so it plays a bit more like a racing simulation than a arcade racer.
From the picture alone this might look like it's in 2D but it's mostly 3D, which adds to the feeling that this is more a racing simulation.
The Game is fun, but also a bit grindy. I saw another youtuber playing it and understood that there is a certain path you should go, since winning some of these races, on first place, gives you new cars and these car types are needed for the next racing competition. I'm kind of used to get a car and upgrade it with the price money i win and tried to grind enough money. But this isn't the intended way and it progresses really slow. The first GP is really easy to win, just pick a decent car, that you can buy with your starting capital and you're good to go. But the 2nd GP is suddenly on hard difficulty, since the nice car you bought for the first time, doesn't really fit anymore. Okay i could also be a better driver, but this only works to a certain point where you really need a better vehicle.
Speaking of vehicles, i like the amount of different cars you can buy, even if some of them are there for skits and giggles. This is why i tried to win a race with the 3-wheeled Isetta. But that doesn't work, even fully upgraded.
Tuning is good, but not all cars can tune all parts to level 3. So as example, many cars can only upgrade the motor from level 0 to level 1. I guess later vehicles can be upgraded in all cathegories to level 3, but i'm not sure. A very important upgrade are the tires. Better tires mean a better turn rate and less sliding in curves. That's something really important, since most tracks got sharp turns and the longer you slide, the more it slows you down. So breaking before these and get through these curves on the inner side is more effective then sliding on the outer side of the curve.
So all in all short, Super Wooden GP2 is a game that is more for Racing Simulation fans, that want to play this genre from another perspective.
