Lyrics

Ah, ah, ah, ah

(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues
(Let's dance)
To the song they're playing on the radio
(Let's sway)
While colour lights up your face
(Let's sway)
Sway through the crowd to an empty space

If you say run, I'll run with you
And if you say hide, we'll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall, into my arms
And tremble like a flower

(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
For fear your grace should fall
(Let's dance)
For fear tonight is all
(Let's sway)
You could look into my eyes
(Let's sway)
Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight

And if you say run, I'll run with you
And if you say hide, we'll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall, into my arms
And tremble like a flower

(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues
(Let's dance)
To the song we're playing
(Let's sway)
(Let's sway)
Under the moonlight, this serious moonlight

(Let's dance)
(Let's)
(Let's)
(Let's)
(Let's dance)
(Let's)

Let's dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
(Let's dance)
(Let's sway)
(Let's sway)
Let's dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance, dance
(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)
(Let's dance)

About David Bowie:
David Bowie redefined musical genres and the potential of live performance for generations of music lovers. Creating and discarding a variety of personae and restlessly challenging musical boundaries, Bowie released timeless albums including Space Oddity, Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust…, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans, Station to Station, "Heroes,” Let's Dance, Heathen, The Next Day and many more. Blackstar, Bowie’s 28th and final studio album, was released on his 69th birthday, January 8, 2016. David Bowie died on January 10, 2016, two days after the release of Blackstar. His body of work, his influence on the worlds of music, art, fashion, film, theatre and beyond, and his legacy of innovation and reinvention will live forever. 2022 kicks off with Bowie at 75, a celebration of his 75th birthday with the Brilliant Adventure box set, the previously unreleased Toy, the 50th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust and a series of special events.

David Bowie was one of the biggest Humanitarian people you’d ever known, the reason he featured the Aboriginal people in this video was to shine light on them because their Lives Mattered too. David Bowie was against unfair racist mistreatment of fellow human beings. I remember him making MTV to show more black entertainers, and if they didn’t he’d boycott himself. As a black American man I love and respected what David Bowie stood for, may he rest in heaven.

Took my daughter to see him in Vancouver in 1984, she was 5, had red shoes and thought this song had been written for her. She danced in the aisle with her red shoes on.

I'm Australian and I can tell you this film clip is very powerful and represents the psychic connection the aboriginal people have towards the land and how they understand the message of love and peace over feature comforts and materialism. They really are incredible people. Very spiritual and very talented!

Fun fact: This song was filmed in one of Australia’s outback towns. The pub where he filmed most of the video is still here right now!

Yes it's 2024 but how easy it is to go back many years and get down to Bowie and his brilliant music. Bowie is gone but he will never be forgotten. I'm a Bowie fan for the rest of my life . How about all of you out there *
  • David Bowie released this masterpiece in 1983. In 2023, this song still rocks!

Stevie Ray Vaughan and David Bowie is just a masterful combo. SRV knocked it out of the park.

In 1983 I was working in Saudi Arabia and every Friday we would receive Betamax tapes of MTV and The Tube. I can still remember watching this for the first time and thinking WTF!! Rewind, repeat, rewind, repeat. Still love it 40 years later....
  • @wittyclips...
He had a fresh haunting voice. Nobody sounded like him.

RIP MR. BOWIE. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING JOY TO THE WORLD. "I sometimes forget that I was created for Joy. My mind is too busy. My Heart is too heavy for me to remember that I have been called to dance the Sacred dance of life. I was created to smile To Love To be lifted up And to lift others up. O’ Sacred One Untangle my feet from all that ensnares. Free my soul. That we might Dance and that our dancing might be contagious." ~Hafiz, Persian 14th Century poet
