If I remember correctly, they addressed this recently and said that one dnd was too early in development for them to do the open license thing right now, but it's still planned for the future.

The OGL affects streaming and recordings as well. Many people won’t be able to show or talk about any official stat blocks or campaigns without getting a license to broadcast (which will mean paying for it or getting enough of a following.)

As an avid homebrew collector, if this ends up being the case, I might just stick to 5e. Especially when homebrew content tends to be better than the official stuff. Yours being an amazing example of that. I've seen so much amazing content being made by people, whilst I find myself just glance at official stuff and then forget about it a bit later. The story, balance and so on can be so much better in homebrew material that I personally find myself going for homebrew when I DM over official modules. Especially when most lore for monsters disappeared with their newer changes. But that's just an opinion for someone that might have started trough 5e, but then looked into older lore. I'm happy I have homebrew and old official lore to look at whenever I want to run something, so that I can look at it, take what I like, throw away what i don't like, and then make my own lore that fit what I want to run together with my players and DM's alike. Not having any lore and needing to make everything from scratch can be extremely taxing, or I just don't have the time. In the end, for me, 5e will continue to live on even if they stop making official content. But I still hope that things will turn out for the better.
