In case you don’t make it to the end of the video, I want to announce content is slowing down. I want to make larger, bigger videos with longer run times. I’ll be leaving home to visit my family this week, so this is the last video for a week or so. This marks a pretty significant shift in my content and I’m working toward doing more of the work that I want to make. In the mean time, feel free to join either (or both) of my discord servers to hang out with fellow fans or even play on my Minecraft server. ❤

What really bugs me is they didn't update swamps! They just added a new, super rare OTHER swamp with shiny new content, while the old ones still have nothing but oak trees and lilypads.

I want more particle effects that are tied to biome. Fireflies would be a good one that's tied to swamps exclusively. Give me a reason to build in anything other than a planes biome.
  • I think the end needs a big biome update, specifically alien looking eery but not nescessarily dangerous biomes, just unique alien biomes that don't look like just "forest but purple" like every end upgrade mod does
  • @donutstudios6353
Maybe the mushroom caves can have like, glowing mushrooms, that grow from all 4 sides (not just ground, from walls and ceiling too)! That would be hella cool

Birch forest is a MUST, especially how common they are and how beautiful that concept art was

About birch biomes, there are actually two currently in-game. The regular one and the old growth birch biome. It’s a biome of tall birch trees, and peculiarly enough, as players, we have no way of replicating such tress other than building them by hand. It gives just a tiny bit of mystique to the biome. Also, in the earlier minecraft versions, because there were fewer tree types, there were more variants of the each biomes and biomes were tied to terrain generation. There were multiple types of forests, each with different percentages of tree types and different levels of tree density. The only remaining trace of that now is perhaps the sparse jungle, a jungle with spread out trees and bushes.

I think it would be prudent if Mojang takes like, 2 years to do a COMPLETE overworld overhaul. Improve a bajillion features and add in 2-3 new biomes for basically "Minecraft: The Update That Changed The World - Part 2" Of course, have snapshots be a weekly thing so that the community is actively involved, but the overworld needs a complete overhaul. It feels stuck in 2018.

I really like the idea of growing palm trees on sand, it would give a new interaction to the otherwise boring sand block

I think mangrove should be changed. Remember that concept art? Steve and alex in a boat swimming through fog, fireflies and different vines, cattails... What I'm annoyed most of, is that mangrove swamp is a hell, there is no wide rivers in it, a huge amount of holes from caves & cliffs, and a lot of mobs hiding behind trees. Very hard to move through and very dangerous. Also looks bad without shaders and better fog, lack of bloom and fireflies 😔 Also, remember biome vote? Spiral mountians would be SO GOOD.

One thing I disagree about is reusing existing wood for palm trees. Palm trees IRL are actually very unique in that they're technically not even trees, they're closer related to grass than trees. Because of this, their wood is quite different from the typical tree, an example being is they don't have tree rings. I agree that Minecraft is loaded with wood varients and it really doesn't need anymore, but it would be so disappointing if Palm trees were added and it was just like every other tree with how different they are in real life.
  • @Rilas711
I would love small rocks to be added! That would be so cool, maybe add small insects to hide underneath or worms to use when fishing or something. There is so much they could do.
  • @Direblade11
Rather than a constant change, rare modifiers might be a fun idea E.g: • fields of pumpkin patches with a 5% chance of sometimes generating throughout plains or basic forests. • "Old/wild" variations to forests, with old having many more fallen logs and dead trees with those fun toadstools, or wild versions having thicker growth that maybe generates bushier trees or creeping vines. They could spawn creepers more frequently or even have wolves be aggressive at night if spawned there. The point is that these would be rarer variations that hopefully change very little, but can make different places feel unique instead of just, "wow. This updated birch forest sure does have tall trees. I kinda miss the old type where collecting wood was easier and I didn't lag every time I use a bed from all the bees"
  • I love your beach idea, but given beaches can spawn next to any biome, I think they could be conditional. Like I wouldn’t necessarily want palm trees right next to my taiga base. BUT perhaps they could have a warm beach and cold beach. The warm beach could have palm trees (which maybe could grow coconuts like cocoa beans), and the cold beach could have extra rocks and boulders much like mega taiga biomes.

I would like it if Mojang would occasionally add a new biome to the nether instead of the overworld.
  • @BlueJay73va
Not technically its own biome, but I would love to seem them make some updates to lakes. I used to work at a summer camp that was on a massive lake, and there is so much you can do with a lake. More fresh-water species of both fish and amphibians, plenty of more insects [RIP the Firefly], more hazards in the form of leeches and other waterborne parasites, new underwater structures that you can ONLY find in fresh water lakes, more animal mobs being attracted to the area to drink, maybe even new vegetation in the form of algae that can serve both decorative and functional purposes, and of course manatees.

As someone who really loves birch trees I was soo sad when they said it was just a concept, I think if they added or changed the birch leaves to be orange that would be fun! And gives us something other than green (we have lots of green leaves and idk adding a different color would be fun)
  • @lasercraft32
Funny enough, Origin Realms (a vanilla Minecraft server with a lot of mod-like features) actually fixes basically all of the issues listed in the video. They have palm trees. they have fancier giant mushrooms, they have fallen logs and more birch tree shapes, they have icicles, they have granite/andesite/diorite boulders, and they have pebbles, plus a LOT more.
  • @thomasdevlin5825
I always thought mushroom stems should be a log that gives a new type of wood, the mushroom island would literally be the perfect starting biome if it weren't for the fact that you have to transplant trees from somewhere else in order to make it livable. It wouldn't exactly be an upgrade to the mushroom island since any giant mushroom would do the same thing, but it would be really convenient for those lucky enough to spawn on one
  • I think a good change to the birch forest, would be to make the leaves all yellow and orange as if it’s autumn to give birch trees a better and unique aesthetic
