RE: Grumbling opponents. I am a very easy going person to play against, so when folks get overbearingly grumbly and whine about conceding, i will extend my hand and say 'alright thanks for the game'. The majority will then walk it back and say well maybe i should play on a bit more (great!). I don't try to convince people to play stuff out anymore, i let them come to that conclusion themselves. When an opponent during the game gripes about overpowered or strong things my response has evolved into "Yea its really good!, we can discuss it more after the game". Hinting that I don't want to engage in their disparagement. The best mindset to have when coming into a competitive event is you will either 'win or learn something' and if you can do both thats even better. Every loss should be a learning experience to make your list or your playstyle better for the next game!

when your opponent learn you are playing the empire and ask you " how many cannons do you have " and you respond " as many as the game rules allow me to bring "

Trolls have fear so the stank only causes fear in them, not terror. That guy deserved it for being a nightmare though!

Once again id reccomend 8/4 spears over 6/5, or 7/4 if you're trying to save some points. Outside 1 extra rank of ablatives you're not gonna start losing rank bonus until several rounds of melee, and the extra attacks helps you hold out.

3rd opponent is obviously that ‘guy’. Like DJ Khaled would say, he’s played himself.

You mention that when a war machine flees it just dies, that's not a rule though. They just flee with -1 movement but get to make a flee roll like everyone else.

Looks like a formidable list, and great commentary, as always. Just my opinion, but you might want to include a unit of knights in there somewhere so that you can pull off a flank charge once the state troops have held the enemy charge. I get that it's hard to find the space in these lists, but if you've got some counter punch to negate ranks and roll up a flank it should make the force much better in melee, rather than just holding the line.

Loved this tourney report, hope to be able to get to a tournament some day and maybe face you! I've painted over 8k points of Old World in the last 7 months but I've only played casually so far.

Great video. I think Old World is best with a 6x4 board and there might be a community fix if GW sticks to its guns not balance patching legacy factions. But your army did great with the big infantry blocks. I feel like a few tweaks: an anti-magic item maybe; and just a touch of counter threat, some knights maybe. Kind of like guard and a smattering of indirect. You need something that can keep people honest if they expose their flanks. Very cool to have proved out the concept.

You will smash people with errantry crusade. I’d have a go just to feel what a tournament’s like with top tier melee threat.

...I'm taking notes from that vampire game for my own undead forces. Not a big fan zombies nor letting my necromancers ride on big targets, and I have no Cav to speak of. But the morale debuff + banshee is interesting.
