What can I do for practice before I get a Violin though? And when I have pretty much never touched a Violin. Maybe I could sight read the Suzuki books or something and learn the notes on the Piano...

hi I started learning to play the violin recently and ive noticed that when I try to play higher notes ,on the E string especially, it make a scratchy noise. ive tried playing around with pressure and even cleaning the string but none of that worked. What may be causing this sound and what can I do to prevent it?
