  • I guess audible doesn’t have any books about how to spell “Kazakhstan”
  • @omary5439
"Let me guess, your home?" Stanos: "It was, and it was Staniful."

I added the area in square miles of every stan country, and then, I looked on a website showing the ranks for how large every country is. After receiving my total sum for stanistan, I can conclude that, if stanistan we're to become a country one day, it would be the seventh largest country in the world.
  • i LOVE using the term "friend" in this context. like, "Iran wouldnt sacrifice ... to become Stanistans friend." i think its such a cute and funny concept
  • Stanistan is basically what would happen if someone was like "Yo let's create a muslim version of Austria-Hungary"

Middle East: We have the most ethnic tension Stanistan: Actually...
  • Fun fact: -istan is a Persian suffix meaning "land". Persian used to be the lingua franca in many areas between Iran and Bangladesh. Persian is an official language in Afghanistan and Tajikistan besides Iran, and many Iranian provinces have as -istan suffix in their names. In modern Persian, many European countries have Persian names ending in -istan as well, for example we Iranians say Englistan instead of England, Magyaristan (land of Magyars) instead of Hungry, Serbistan (Serbia), and so on.

Coming back to this video after 1 year, I am more informed of global politics and ethnicities. I now think there are a lot of mistakes in this analysis, although, with good effort and no ill intention from the creator. The Pashtun problem won't be a problem at all after unification, since it is mostly driven because of US involvement and the division of pakhtuns due to the Darrund Line. That line will exist no more and since Pakistan is now with Stanistan, it is a nuclear power and US will have no choice but to leave the region. Stanistan would immediately be offered alliances with Russia or China due to the fact that US troops are on the ground and Stanistan would obviously want them to leave. China already has the CPEC initiative with Pakistan and other close nations for the Belt and Road route. So China will not be an enemy at all. Russia has huge stakes on the CPEC project as well and already supplies a vast majority of it's Natural Gas and Oil to it's neighbors already so choosing to be enemies is Stanistan will not be beneficial to them. On the other hand, Russia will be incentivized to be allied with Stanistan in fear of USA attempts to welcome it into NATO, having a huge impact on the geo-political strategy. Killing 2 birds with 1 stone by containing Russia and China in 1 swift move. Russia nd China will not accept this at all and Stanistan's rulers will have to make the decision to either Join NATO, Join Russia and China as allies or make it's own league with the Arab states, 2 examples we have are OIC and Arab League. Choosing the latter will give the new nation massive power in the world and secure it's World Power - or Super Power status instantly. India will 100% be an adversary but will be careful in it's approach as they too want to connect with central Asia and don't want to anger China since Stanistan and China will no doubt be allies. A 2 front force for India is a real threat and the last thing they need is 2 nuclear super powers aiming their guns at them. Coming to the point of the Shia and Sunni muslims in the region and the tussle with Iran. Pakistan today has absolutely no problem with both sects and both of them are living in harmony in the country. Iran's agenda and the Saudi Arabia's agenda have been foiled many times by Pakistani citizens. And with Saudi Arabia's dependence on Pakistan's military for it's defense and Iran's dependence on Pakistan for imports and secure borders, and the already established alliance of both countries, the possibility is there for complicated relations, but probably Iran and Stanistan will be allies. Overall, this nation will not be as unstable as you might think, since with good fortune, all states are in 1 border, unlike the Pakistan in 1947, which had West Pakistan and East Pakistan, resulting in difficulty in governance. And which huge natural resources, I doubt any of the neighboring countries will want bad relations. So this is my analysis.

Imagine this being an actual thing in April 2020: this is just the beginning

Stanistan was founded. 2 hours later, Stanistan has been copyrighted by Eminem and is expected to pay 1.6 billion.
  • In Persian, apart from the 11 countries you mentioned ( 7 Stanistan + Mogholestan, Hindustan, Lahestan, Engelestan) the following countries also have similar names: Serbestan (Serbia) Majarestan (Hungary) Arabestan (Saudi Arabia) Armanestan (Armenia) Gorjestan (Georgia) Bulgarestan (Bulgaria) Also, there is some territory or province in other countries which ended with "stan" in Persian. As you say the word "stan" in Persian is equivalent to the prefix "land" so there are no restrictions on use.

I really enjoy your videos and your subtle sense of humor. Thanks.
  • "We're gonna unite all of these countries and just see what happens" That does indeed sound very British
  • @HoLDoN4Sec
honestly i expected you to make a hint about how the USSR wanted to collect all of the "Stans" but encountered major civilian and Islamic resistance when they got to Afghanistan, so they never ended up reaching Pakistan

I want to “Thank You” for making this video about a possible Stanistan.
  • @bhgtree
Title for their national anthem: 'We all Stan together."
  • Other stans: We are landlocked, but big. Pakistan: Let me introduce you something.
  • This video aged well too well for what online communities are becoming
