Doesn't get talked about much because he wasn't in the PL long enough. But my gosh did he make a statement when he was in the PL. Prolific and deadly in front of goal. You could bet your house on him when he is 1v1 with the keeper. For me, he gets in the Utd all time 11. Absolute machine.

Easily one of the best strikers in the prem. Seeing him run full speed with ball is insane, the ball is literally glued to his foot. 🔥

Not only was he a master finisher but he had master movement and anticipation also, was always in the right place at the right time.

When I was 8-14 years old I used to go to United with my Dad and the boys! Bus trip to Manchester, id go with or without a ticket, but when I got to go into the stadium, I’ll never forget the buzzing feeling I got when inside. The best feeling I’ve ever felt is when RVN scored a goal and the crowd cheered “RUUD……RUUD…..RUUD”…… That buzzing feeling was so intense, especially when I got a ticket for sitting in the upper Stretford End, gate W15. I believe I was actually at this match and was sitting in the North stand tier 3. Watching this now and hearing that RUUD RUUD RUUD cheering gave me instant nostalgia. Those seasons in 2002/3/4 battling with Arsenal were great. RVN was a great striker, and was smashing the goals in when given the ball right 😄. Top striker, superb at running and striking belting goals 👌🏻

Best striker I've seen in my life. His anticipation was second to none always in right place for a rebound but when he took the ball he didn't give keeper a chance with the power and accuracy to match. Something that gets over looked is just what an exceptional first touch he had that made him space where there was none his second touch was usually a goal. Truly great striker.

I’m a Liverpool fan and I rate him as one of the greatest strikers I’ve seen.He’s as clinical as any striker I’ve seen and doesn’t get talked about as much as he should.

My favorite player in the world. When I found out he was going to coach PSV's first team, I jumped around the house for joy. There are no strikers like him today. I hope there will be more strikers to emulate him in the future.
