From Me to You: Hannah Shows (October 9, 2020)

Published 2020-10-21
Hannah is a college student in Washington, DC from California. Covid-19 has impacted her in many ways primarily being a student. She's grateful for family, boyfriend, amazing dogs and a safe home, but has chronic migraines and is using the "great pause" as an opportunity to think about her life. Reflecting on herself and her role as a worker, Covid has taught Hannah that it's "less about what you're doing and more about how you're doing it and who you're doing it with". What keep her going? Her ability to tell stories of joyful resilience through short documentary film-making. And it is joyful resilience that she hopes the world learns - "that we learn we are worth the battle of finding islands of positivity to hold onto - not in the toxic positivity way, not in the shallow "work hard enough and stay happy and you'll get it done" way, but in the finding moments of true joy." She wishes that the world will learn to make ourselves happy...and not at the expense other people's well-being.
