Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Thank you for letting me break 90. I managed to get a 84. It was my best round ever on 9 holes.
  • @kylemo938
You should do a video where you shadow a 25+ handicap through 18 holes. He/ She HAS to do what you recommend (ie club choice/ aim/ strategy) and see if they are able to break 90

I haven't done a full 18 yet, but I play the front 9 at a local course, and consistently get 52-55 (par 36). I've improved around 20 strokes in the last 3 months (I just started) and I would be so happy if I got down to 45. These tips have been a huge help

This video helped me so much. Entering my second year an I finally broke 100. Shot a 98 last weekend!
  • Rick really thinks I’m going to go from breaking the clubhouse windows to breaking 90. Challenge accepted!

A tip a friend of mine said for breaking 90 is ‘every hole is a par 5’. It’s more of a mindset tip than a technique/play tip, but it really helped me forgive a 6 or a 7 on a hole if I could secure a 3 or a 4 on others
  • For ever and ever I have been stuck in the 90s and low 100s but I watched this video and worked it into my practice and got out on the course yesterday. I shot my lowest score ever of a 89. From a junior golfer thanks!
  • Hey Rick, I’m a 16 year old junior golfer and I broke 75 for the first time after watching your instructional videos. Thanks!

The bump and run has been most helpful for me. I always used to go for a big flop shot and as a result over shot the green 99.9% of the time. Utilizing the bump and run has shaved about 5-8 strokes off my score so far :) Granted I’m still relatively new to the game of golf, so I still have a lot to learn yet, but I enjoy the hell out of the game

Broke 100 last season, major goal #1 this year is to break 90. Watching this again as a good refresher for my mindset and confidence. I know it's a little older now, but these videos are super appreciated Rick!

This was the best golf instruction video I have ever watched…I’m playing again Thursday…I am super psyched…thank you!
  • @Hodgy14
Rick thanks for all the tips! I picked up the game last year through lockdown just because I started watching your videos. I was a 34 handicap all last year shooting 102 on my best day and 110+ on my worst days. Challenged myself to break 100 and was getting frustrated at not being able to but in February I shot a 97 and now I'm down to a 23 handicap shooting consistent 95-97. I just love golf now all because of you!
  • Watched this video this morning before my round and shot a 90. My previous best was 96. Thanks Rick, you are a massive help.
  • @njmackem
Watched this at the weekend and really took it to heart. Working with new clubs so I needed all the help I can get.. Shot back to back 84's by following these tips. Just need to learn how to drive effectively now!!!
  • Love your tips, Rick. Eliminating those extra strokes is indeed crucial. Thanks so much and keep up the good work.
  • @Djjr62777
Love all your “Top Tips” I’ve improved from a constant 105-110 to a solid 90-94 in the last year. Thank you for all your work, including putting the old training videos back up here and there! Love em!

I'm a new subscriber. I was a 10 handicap golfer, and took a 20yr break from playing. Now, at 53yrs old, I'm going back to the driving range, and hoping to start playing once a week. These are great tips to remind me of how to play the shots that save you strokes! Great video!! Looking forward to more in the future!

Awesome video ! I just started playing again about four months ago after not swinging a club for 12 years, I just shot a 88 last week thanks to videos like this ! It can be done with patience and a game plan you stick with
