Haslab Giant Man's UNREAL Last Day

Published 2023-10-25
Join Jay as he breaks down the Unprecedented run of the Haslab Giant Man. While the Marvel Legends team listened to fan feedback on the failed Engine of Vengence and made some big changes to their next crowdfund. The Haslab Giant didn't light the collecting world on fire and didn't fund until an unreal last day spike that nearly hit every tier. Jay digs into the numbers with the help of Brian Brink's Chart Mastery.

Hasbro should do a poll and let fans decide between 5-10 items on which one they would want for a Haslab. It would be interesting to see which items they would bring up for a poll.

I'm here for the charts. Video did not disappoint. 5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Don't forget it was Cobra Commander's brilliant strategic mind that saved the Skystriker.

Something that John said on a livestream months ago really stood out to me. He was talking about the Dragonfly, and he noted that he wouldn't back it if it went BEYOND a certain number, as this would effectively nerf its resale value due to there simply being too many units floating around on the secondary market. I think that the reasonable price, the fact that it is, after all, a classic Marvel character, and the fact that the overall unit count is low really drove a ton of resellers to jump in at the last minute. EDIT -- YOU SAID IT, LOL
  • While I don't think crowdfunding is necessary for 99% of toys, I'm still glad for those who supported giant man. I don't personally see the value but it's nice for those who do. I've never been particularly interested in traditional super-hero figures.

Great analysis πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ Keep up the great work! πŸš€πŸ€–
  • Cool video, Jay. The content here and on GDL2 is consistently some of my favorite on YouTube. Thanks for the time and effort you put in. Also, LOL @ "Galacti?"

I really enjoyed how many of us fans came together to make it happen and just be positive about marvel legends
  • I just wish that we got the skrull head because I’m never going to use the zombie faceplate and its never going to see the light of day.
  • @Kewkumber
It’s def a good time to be alive to have seen these numbers jump in real time 🀣 the anxiety and anticipation was so much fun tbh
  • @raypaz2947
Congrats to you all I’m glad it backed for you all.
  • That is so weird. One minute after the funding window closed it was 13, 603. Now your screen shot says 13,889.
  • Excellent deep dive. I think it was a combination of too many crowdfunds and lack of interest in the character. Maybe they should try a different method with ones that don't have enticing tiers like increase the cost but lower the moq and then lower the cost and increase the moq as they hit tiers. Also they could throw in a few normal tiers of add-ons as well. Either way I happy that people who wanted this were able to get it, it looks like an awesome figure.

This video takes you channel to a whole other level. It would nice for Hasbro to throw in the stuff for the 14000 tier but they won't. It was only short by like just a little over 100. Oh well.

Honestly I'm impressed. Not a fan of crowdfunding by big companies, myself, but I'm glad to see people getting something they clearly want. πŸ™‚ I was expecting it to either just miss the goal or just scrape by, so somewhere in the 9,980-10,020 range, so I'm quite surprised by the outcome.

Next year Gi Joe Haslab is going to be Cobra Rattler I believe.
  • @MiddleAgedGuy73
I ordered two, but it was on the first day. I'd hoped to get the Skrull head but I'm still happy to have two.
  • @LunaticReason
Whoa I thought this Haslab was gonna fail. Congrats to all who backed him.
  • @jimgreen1376
I would love to know how many folks mocking this haslab and rooting for it not to fund, jumped on board after it did because of FOMO. Bet it was quite a high number.
