✅Cherry Blossom in Istanbul
In 2005, Japanese cherry blossom trees were presented by Japan to the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden in Istanbul, Turkey. Each tree represents one sailor of the frigate Ertugrul which was a famous frigate of the Ottoman Turkish navy. On the way back from a goodwill visit to Japan in 1890 she ran into a typhoon and sank with a loss of 587 Ottoman Turkish sailors.

That loss is being remembered at every anniversary. The Japanese cherry trees represent the memory of those who died and provide remembrance.
Ertuğrul memorial has 527 cherry blossom tree planted in memory of 527 sailors who lost their lives during their return voyage from Japan commanded by Abdul Hamid II of the Ottoman Empire.
Sakura (桜 (kanji), 櫻 (old kanji), さくら (hiragana), サクラ (katakana)) is the Japanese term for ornamental cherry blossom trees and their blossoms.
✅Hanami (Flower Viewing)
In modern-day Japan, hanami mostly consists of having an outdoor party beneath the sakura during daytime or at night. The Japanese people continue the tradition of hanami, gathering in great numbers wherever the flowering trees are found.
Thousands of people fill the parks to hold feasts under the flowering trees, and sometimes these parties go on until late at night. In more than half of Japan, the cherry blossoming days come at the same time as the beginning of school and work after vacation, and so welcoming parties are often opened with hanami. Usually, people go to the parks to keep the best places to celebrate hanami with friends, family, and company coworkers many hours or even days before.
