By the way I feel I should clarify, this is not logs 5, this is a minisode. Logs 5 is still in production and is still happening.
  • No Distant Frontier, you do not help others through trauma by FUCKING LOBOTOMIZING THEM.
  • The most terrifying concept in this whole thing is that the accent implies Rain World has an Australia. Imagine what Rain World Australia would be like.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Sliver of Straw? I thought not. It's not a story the Inquisition would tell you. It's an Apostate legend. Sliver of Straw was an Apostate, so powerful and so wise she could influence the Karma to create a very special form of life… the power to ascend others. She had such a divine knowledge that she could even free other iterators from the cycle. Karmatic manipulation is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. She became so powerful… the only thing she was afraid of was losing her power, which eventually, of course, she did. Unfortunately, she taught her apprentice everything she knew, then her apprentice killed her. Ironic. She wished to free others from the cycle, but not herself.

Frontier thinks helping someone through their trauma is by essentially giving them amnesia and then never telling them it happened, good gracious.

Whether we wanted it or not, we’ve stepped into a war with the Distant Frontier on Rain World. So let’s get to taking out his superstructure, one by one.
  • Okay, I just watched " IL: AGS" and am now trying to put the pieces together. In this she's a lot more paranoid than displayed in the first AGS video (she reacts very calmly to losing her memory, at least at first), this could be because (1) a part of her paranoia and anxiety stems from her administrators, and DF removed all of her memories of them or (2) DF "removed" that part of her personality, as is also implied in the log. She is also much more positive in AGS in the logs she is left with after she loses her memory. This could be because at the end of this video it is implied that DF created seven logs for her after deleting all of her previous ones (DF finds 122 logs then deletes them, but doesn't delete seven other logs that show up afterwards). By deleting these logs where she expresses how terrible she feels, he is trying to re-write her into what he thinks will make her more happy, and creates logs for her that he thinks will fit this image, so he isn't just trying to limit her information, he is also trying to change her. A problem with DF creating the logs in AGS is the fact that they contain extremely incriminating evidence of him (he isn't mentioned by name, but even giving Strand hints that someone malicious caused her to power down is an unnecessary risk when he could lie about it being natural). This could be DF having the slightest remains of moral boundaries and not wanting to directly lie to her about the reason of her shutdown and thinking that she would eventually warm up to paradise, or thinking she would eventually find the truth anyway. It could also be another reason I've overlooked (PROBABLE). Something else to consider about the difference in tone is that Strand's cheerfulness was (at least partially) present in DF's log. This could be because she is talking to her local group, which doesn't cause her stress, or because she is trying to hide it from them, which is more likely.
  • that was horrifying and awesome to see. imagine just being a iterator, doing your normal iterator tasks. then your neighbor decides to expand tenfold, merge their can to yours, then dig through your mind, deleting your past and what makes you, you... then you are left in the dark, never knowing what happened before, thinking this is normal... and that everything is fine...

My girl, liltte baby strand, was conscious during what can be best described as a FUCKING LOBOTOMY????????
  • @inschaal8454
Dang. Distant Frontier deleting files from Golden Strand memory is intimidating as heck.
  • Time to go back and re-watch the first AGS log to see how much she changed because of DF

with a new logs episode, comes more iterator logs alphabet translation work, my ancient duty is revived this is light, bc theres only the thumbnail, and 0:07 "INITIATING" the thumbnail says "PARADISE REQUIRES SACRIFICE"
