  • I love people treating the very smallest creatures (often overlooked simply as food) given their proper due as pets. Would love to see more daphnia tanks in the future!
  • This was very cool. I love seeing the other tiny aquatic animals that can be raised like this.
  • @clownhartz
Your channel has given me a new found love for these small creatures that are commonly used as fish food.. they are so wonderful and amazing :)

I like how honest this kit is. No need to call them “Sea Monkeys!”, “Sea Dragons!”, or “Mermaids!”. This kit just goes, “They’re just Daphnia! Oh you think they’re boring because they’re not magical anomalies? Well you shouldn’t have bought the kit dammit!”
  • @OddLeah
I became fascinated by lichens a couple years ago, and have spent many happy hours crawling through prairie grasses and riverbank thickets with a magnifying glass and pocket microscope. Look like I need to add splashing in the river and ponds to my rambles! There are so many weird little beasties to see!
  • @KillerCaitie
I love seeing the little flap flaps as they move, that's so cool!

I love raising animals as pets when they aren't traditionally kept as lets. I have Fathead Minnows that I caught in the wild that are usually kept as feeder fish or bait. But I have them as pets.
  • I have no objections to the Daphia kit being called "a freshwater version of Sea-Monkeys" but my fairy shrimp are deeply insulted! 🙂
  • thank goodness! I learned to raise brine shrimp from you and my colony has been thriving for almost a year now. But my daphnia always crash. I'm looking forward to learning how to keep them alive from you! I have a physically disabled betta that is basically paralyzed and I have to hand feed him live brine to keep him healthy. I'd love to add live daphnia as well. thank you again so much for your great videos!
  • @FaultBoyy
would love to see some of the items in this kit in future sea monkey kits, especially the heat mat
  • I'd absolutely love to see a video with more Daphnia.. Very interesting video!!! Thank you soo much
  • @eh.440
I'm so glad you can get these in NZ. I usually have to buy my daphnia live from a school science resource place and they often end up dead from shipping 😢 ordering eggs is a much safer and easier way.

0:52 Regarding this being the world's first kit of its kind, I think the Japanese used to sell daphnia as their version of sea monkeys at some point. I've seen little sea monkey tanks filled with them in videogames before; a standout example being a Wario Ware game where it was a collectable toy item.

I've recently been getting into more freshwater aquarium stuff with the intent to breed neocaridina shrimp. I stumbled upon your videos and I love them! I lumped daphnia in with scuds as beneficials that might be annoyances if I am trying to breed shrimp. Now I am finding that despite that, my love for neocaridinas actually translates into brine shrimp and other small crustaceans too. Thank you for sharing your passion and respect for these little guys :) it's actually changed how I see them.
  • @Lillian2167
Awww, Daphnia are so cute!! :3 Thanks for showing us these interesting lil creatures. :3
  • Great video! Very throughly explained and could understand how to grow… thanks
  • @miashadows
I have seed shrimp and cyclops in my cherry shrimp tank, and I love watching them almost as much as the shrimp! Scuds are also very fun to watch, you should try them!
  • @umbrellacorp.
Wow, it's nice to see other types of creatures besides sea monkeys. I would like to see more elaborate setups in your tanks for sea monkeys and daphnia. I love this channel, it's so relaxing to watch. I totally Subscribed. Keep up the good work. 😎👍💯
  • great video. love that you covered another species! i hope you do triops someday!
  • @sogga5696
This is sooo cool I’m loving these other sea creature vids
