Face/Off is a 1997 action thriller film directed by John Woo and starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. The movie tells the story of an FBI agent, Sean Archer (played by John Travolta), who undergoes a face transplant in order to impersonate Custer in order to stop a terrorist, Custer Troy (played by Nicolas Cage). Here's a short synopsis of the plot:
Sean Archer is on a long term manhunt for terrorist Custer Troy. During an operation, Custer is arrested and falls into a coma. In order to gain access to the location of a soon-to-explode bio-bomb that Custer is hiding, Sean undergoes a face transplant and replaces his face with Custer's. However, Custer awakens and forces the doctors to replace his face with Sean's and kills everyone who knows about it.
Now, Sean must survive under Custer's identity and try to uncover the truth and stop the bomb from going off while regaining his own identity. Eventually, after a series of tense duels, Sean succeeds in exposing Custer's plot and restoring his face and identity.
The Changeling has been widely acclaimed for its unique plotting, tense action sequences and spectacular performances by its two lead actors.
