I loved reading my Asterix comic books in the early 1970s and actually found them again when clearing out my parents' attic a couple of years ago.

When I was little I really wanted to live in their village, I used to make matchstick replicas of the village and spent hours imagining what it would be like to live in them. The wild boar always looked insanely delicious to me lol, I always wanted to join them in their feasts and drink the trength potion.

1967 .. wow.. that was 7 years before I was born.. I'm 48 now.. I am just amazed by how awesome the artwork they performed back then along with the musical instruments playing according to each scene and also the voices.. truly top notch performance.. remember.. they had limited equipment to work with back then.

I still have this first Asterix movie, ASTERIX THE GAUL, on a finnish 🇫🇮 VHS tape. It has english 🇬🇧 speech with the finnish 🇫🇮 subtitles. The old Asterix cartoons and comic books are still legendary and inspiring 😺👍. Greetings from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.

Discovered Asterix in the secondary school Library when I was about 12 (in 1984 ; that and Tin Tin). God I was so excited to get my most recent 'borrow' home to read it. The discovery was a bit of a fluke; I knew nothing about the books, but was immediately hooked on the first reading. I forgot just how hilarious Asterix the Gaul was, and pleasantly surprised to see that the comedy translates very well in cartoon.
