Slagging on someone because they got emotional? Authentic moments in life are exactly what we need more of in this overly-canned Instagram, auto tuned world, not less. I loved Kelly’s reaction to Celine’s incredible performance against the odds, and it obviously comes out of real respect and care.

There's noting wrong reacting as a fan and that's what Kelly is doing!

Her reaction to Celine was genuine and touching. Having a go at her for not being a steely-eyed journalist in that moment is doing too much.

This is stupid! Kelly Clarkson is a likeable, charismatic, genuine, down-to-earth girl who so many folks like. She's there for color commentary, and who better to comment on the opening ceremonies than a person who has toured the world, is very familiar with staging and live show production, not to mention her friendly and warm demeanor? Geez, find something else to be angry about!

I am so fed up of all these whiners , complainers and haters - if you did not like turn your t.v. off - it's that simple don't come and ruin it for those who care about the Olympics.

I watched the opening ceremonies and for one, enjoyed listening to Kelly. I actually only tuned in because of Kelly being involved. Not sure why she is being criticized for being her natural self. She is amazing

Whoever don't like Kelly needs to find something else to do, because ever one I know likes Kelly. She is color commentary, and she was just like us cry because she loves Céline.

Ever since her days on American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has been known for her engaging everywoman quality; she's the nice, girl next door who became a star, and her commentary reflected this.

Wtf is this actually about? Did you watch the same opening ceremony I did? You “journalists” are really stretching for a story here. Kelly brought the down to earth, genuine reactions and joy that she always does. Grow up

Good grief. Kelly is Kelly and she played Kelly commenting. I imagine she was nervous... I can't see anything wrong with how she did. She is a genuine soul... world needs more of that. Celine was absolutely Magnifique!!

Kelly did great and gave her honest reactions to the amazing performances and things that were going on in front of her. How refreshing to not have some stiff commentator just reading pre written comments and facts.i think Kelly did awesome.. Some people are just NEVER happy and love to criticize. In the words of Taylor Swift “ people throw rocks at things that shine.” Kudos to Kelly for doing something outside her regular wheelhouse. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I didn’t think Kelly did poorly whatsoever. She always brings a fun energy and internet culture has taught people to constantly have something negative to say. Haters are gonna hate🤦🏻‍♂️

Sadly, far too many people seemly have let their heart and mind go to the Dark Side. How miserable it must be to live with a mind prone to criticism. I wonder what the think of themselves and what they say to themselves, when they look in the mirror.

None of the commentators were that great. They didn’t know who opera star- Jakub Orlinski was. They didn’t know much about French culture or history period. Had they explained that the drag queens were staging a Bacchanalian feast in honor of Bacchus like in Greece, conservative Christians wouldn’t have lost their uneducated minds thinking it was The Last Supper. They didn’t recognize Marie Antoinette either, so in review, they ALL sucked. Her reaction to Celine was the best. Her commentary was emotional and genuine.

I think she was great and raw and so honest, like when Celine performed she couldn't speak because she was very emotional...as a singer herself she knows what its like to perform in front of an audience and to not be able to perform for over four years due to an illness and not know if she will ever; was very emotional for kelly as she know how much this meant to Celine! How can yu call such a beautiful kind hearted girl down for expressing raw and live!
