The amount of callbacks, references and easter eggs to past chapters is insane. First off the actual house of balloons with deflated balloons everywhere. The overhead rotating shot of young Abel as his hair changes to all his famous old styles. Then the reflections of himself and how he looked throughout those past chapters and the end. This album is going to close The Weeknds story beautifully and create a finale we will remember forever

2:00 the way he gives a glimpse of how time has passed through KISSLAND, BBTM, STARBOY and AFTER HOURS is really more than INSANE...XOTWOD

Amazing storytelling. I'm glad I was born in a time that I could witness an artist create such a detailed story with music 😭😭😭
  • I love how this isn’t just “he is releasing a new album because it’s his last as The Weeknd.” you can tell this album is very special to him. It’s thought out but not just to satisfy his fans. It’s a new era but also a new him.

This sounds like a funeral for The Weeknd's character..
  • @parasverse
Every time he drops a project it seems like therapy.

The production on this one is so Soulful and faithful It's like I'm drowning in water, optimistic and nihilistic at the same time

Lyrics for 1:58 you can change locations you can change your name they will always find a way turn your life to nightmares ready for the chase they will always find a way ooooooohhhh, run away ooooooohhhh, run away you can ask forgiveness even when you pray they will always find a way my mama told me it'll never be the same they will always find a way
  • From the heartbeat intro to the acoustic vocals, it just hits the soul and mind differently ✨
  • 1:54 this part almost broke me into emotional as it reminded me of how far i gotten in life From seeing domestic abuse, phase of hurt back in 2017, loneliness of my highschool, covid, aunts passing, depression, healing, and now moving on. Abel if your reading these. (Which i know your a busy singer and person of popularity) Your music has helped me alot And now with me moving out its a huge time Especially leaving my mother and everyone i love as i continue my journey through life And with close freinds i trust im proud of how far ive come in life. As im writing this i am crying cause this album may be the last But this album will impact me in a good way. And since 2020 from after hours to now. Im proud to be a fan And going to your concert in denver changed my life to be a true fan I hope one day ill get to see you and bring my close freinds to meet you one day. Its okay if you dont cause in the end us XO will support you all the way. I will miss the weeknd but i will be welcoming abel in this new chapter of a era. As always XOKOTA XOTWOD XO24

The angelic choir and Gregorian chant tunes in The Weeknd's songs have always been my favorite.
  • @sarcastic_mango
I was hoping that “Wake me up” would be a part of this album and im so glad it is.

This is literal Art. He is the only artist who puts that much thought into his pieces
