If it's on the market, it's in a reviewable state. Don't be afraid to criticise just because it's underbaked. That's when you need reviews most
-
It’s not half-baked. It’s still raw.
-
4:51 "Oh look, it's a phone" got me dead 💀 That's what I've been saying, a physical device like this brings no benefits to a world full of smartphones, with free AI assistant built-in
-
The ability for startups to reinvent the smartphone without calling it a smartphone and make it worse blows my mind. Shows you that VCs will throw money at anything with the letters "AI" in it.
-
Looks like something that would be released in mid 2000s, before modern smartphones were a thing.
-
4:57 Dude the way the fake rabbit turns back into a real one is wild. Awesome editing!
-
"This rabbit is so undercooked, it can hop right out of your pocket" - Gordon Techsey
-
4:59 the way the imaginary phone on the table converts back to R1! very cute detail!
-
4:27 "I wanna just tap stuff dude" - Dave2D, 2024

The fact that the jog dial is on the front, and made of smooth plastic, is just peak digital-only product design, like no one ever tried to touch this thing before signing off on manufacturing. It looked good in CAD, so they shipped it.
-
10:48 That was a super quick exit - lol
-
Makes me realize how well the iPod touch wheel worked
-
4:51, "Look, it is a phone" 🤣
-
changing the R1 to a smartphone is hilarious!
-
dave or daves editor(s) that "R1 phone model" was so seamless omg that is sick good job good f-ing job
-
That rendering of a redesign on the fly was awesome!
-
The battery dropped 6% during your review. This is insane
-
This looks like something a teenage eco terrorist would use against EvilCorp in some cyberpunk novel from the 80s.
-
The "oh look it's a phone!" set up 🤣👏🏿🤣👏🏿

I have said it before, I will say it again, Dave's perspective is always on another level and interesting to hear. Even being a SE myself I sometimes do not think about these things like this. Thanks @Dave2D for these informative thoughtful insights.
