"And don't expect a quality following if that's what people know you for." Damn dude. Troof.

I took large doses of benadryl as a teen/ early adult and my headspace has never been the same since. Do not do it.

I tried it 8ish years ago when I was still in active addiction (mostly heroin but other drugs as well) and it was absolutely the worst experience. I didn't take nearly as much as the girl from this case, but still enough to have some pretty terrifying effects. Hearing voices, seeing shadows moving and forming into objects. The worst part was that shadows would start to morph together into giant (dog-sized) 3D spiders and crawl around. I'm a person that's deathly afraid of spiders, so this was not a good time. I never tried it again after that, but I still feel like my mind is somewhat cloudy ever since then, and again, it's been years. Thankfully I've been able to remain clean from everything for over 6 years now, and my body has been able to recover a lot from my use. But a few experiences have still left deep scars in me and just that one Benadryl use is one of them.

I've watched you grow from a small # of subs on Chubby Emu - you are destined for great things and I'm very happy for you. I may not understand 50% of what you say, but I enjoy trying to learn it, and it gives me a true appreciation for the type of things doctors need to learn, remember, and apply in treatment. You are a good doctor. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!

I'm 9 minutes in and I finally realized the reason this has a different format from the videos on the Chubbyemu channel is because I clicked the heme review video first 🤦‍♂️

I’m taking general chemistry as a freshmen in college right now and it’s really cool seeing how the stuff I’m learning applies in real life. We recently did a lab about the sense of smell and how the formal charge, functional groups, and molecular geometry all contribute to the smell we perceive. Seeing it applied in this situation is really cool, despite the macabre circumstances.

OTC abuse, brought to you by the war on drugs and boredom from lockdowns.

I got IV Benadryl at the ER that was pushed a little too fast and the dose was a little too high. It made me have a really bad trip and a huge meltdown. One of the worst feelings of my life, and I have a chronic pain condition. I cannot imagine doing that on purpose

I intentionally OD’ed on a drug in the same class as Benadryl. Y’all, don’t do it. I couldn’t walk. I didn’t get rushed because the EMT was more curious about asking me why I tried to commit die than actually getting me treatment. I took like 200 pills. I reported the amount in grams and she didn’t get that it was a HUGE amount. Thankfully thankfully thankfully I threw up early on, but some of it still got to me. The taste of the concentrated pills coming up after several cycles of vomiting with barely any stomach acid left was disgusting. I threw up so long I aspirated on my vomit. I was so exhausted I threw up all over myself. I’m pretty sure I had an absence seizure. It was like this ball of lightning was approaching my ear and I could feel all the energy on that side and suddenly when it hit me, BAM! It felt like an explosion in my head. Again and again and again. My brain felt like it existed on a different plane of reality. I can’t explain it. My mouth was so dry. I can’t describe it. It was beyond uncomfortable. Imagine your mouth without a single drop of saliva. You can try to smack it but nothing will come. The inside of your mouth is like your outside skin. I had a fever because I wasn’t sweating and I was wearing winter clothes. So basically, within an hour I was shivering uncontrollably, throwing up all over myself while not being able to disperse the horrible pill taste because I had no saliva, and throwing up so hard I breathed in my vomit, all while experiencing these weird head explosions. After that I was basically asleep for two days, and when I was awake I threw up. If they moved my bed even slightly I threw up. I was so out of it they couldn’t even do a psych eval before admitting me to the ward. The shift of 4 psychiatrists passed before they decided they were just going to admit me. I didn’t go to the bathroom because I couldn’t move so eventually when the effect of the pills started wearing off I shit myself. It’s embarrassing but also you need to understand what happens when you OD on this stuff. never again. If you want to commit aliven’t please please go straight to the hospital without trying something first.

That little line at the end "dont expect a quality following" is spot on if you get famous from something like this you're only gonna keep that fame if you continue doing what brought them there or worse
  • Taking just two pills (which is the maximum recommended dose) sometimes gives me mild auditory hallucinations so the idea of taking more than that terrifies me
  • @ZeludeRose
i used to abuse benadryl heavily (up to 1 gram a few times) and this video was great, thank you for making this. trust me yall its not worth it.
  • @thespider7898
People should always check Erowid before trying any new substances. Plenty of folks have tried just about everything, and its important to do your research so you don't end up making a huge mistake.
  • @healingv1sion
I took 2 pills for an allergic reaction and slept for 17 hours how can you even get high off this? It drops me like a brick
  • @benlovell9860
I did it when I was younger around 4 years ago and my body is still recovering the doctors I had also didnt take all these precautions and didnt really have experience so i cant blame them but i feel my body has suffered majorly please anyone who is thinking of doing this you will regret it for the rest of your life just do mushrooms if you want to trip
  • @zero132132
I remember when I took half a bottle of benadryl. Every account of it said something like "It sounded interesting despite the warnings so I tried it, then [insert horrible experience]." Horrible experience sounded interesting despite the warnings so I tried it. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Legit left me traumatized. I panic when I see spiders now. I felt like I'd been poisoned for at least the next week. Nobody should ever try this shit because even at levels that won't send you to the hospital it's terrible.

Hatman and his spider friends were probably glad to have the company lmao.

If I had had friends and teachers like you during college I would probably still be pursuing my biology degree and not working a dead end job.
