  • My cousin keeps telling me to stop fasting so much. He’s a chiropractor. It feels so good to fast. Plus, I have arthritis and it calms the inflammation down. A twelve hour fast is not what I can consider a fast.

First of all everyone seems to see weight as the issue where it should be FAT. Secondly fasting has health benefits like BDNF for brain rebuilding. Human growth hormone and Stem Cell Production and Autophagy. VERY CURIOUS that so many health gurus are condemning fasting recently. Paid off, starting to think so.
  • Fasting was the panacea and solved every problem until about a year ago and now it's the worst anything ever. Did a universal constant change or something? 🤔
  • @joelnye6399
5/2 fasting is not a problem. When you have 5 days of normal eating, it offsets having ill effects from fasting the other 2 days. I fast every Monday and Wednesday OR Thursday each week combined with a decent caloric intake on the other days and have no issues.

Dr Berg still recommends intermittent fasting is the best way to go.

She fought me on it for a long time. But now we eat 2x a day. Lunch and dinner. That's it. We feel and look great! Especially for our age! Never ever changing it! Plus save a ton of money! Thank you so much for ALL your videos!!!

I don’t feel better fasting, and my belly is getting bigger! I’ve been on a regimen designed by Ben Azadi—2MAD Tuesday through Sunday (morning and afternoon); a 24-hr fast from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon, ending in OMAD. On Tuesday, back to 2MAD. Despite my concerns, it wasn’t hard. But I’ve taken on bloating and water weight. I don’t feel weak. It’s great because I’m less preoccupied with eating. Now I have not been able to follow a strict 6-hr window, more like 8 hrs. It has been doable. I’m just not losing weight or belly fat. I am a 74-yo woman. I work out at least 3x/wk.

Omg! That is me..I hate food now and I'm nutrient deficient now .High anxiety and through my thyroid off.. I was doing 16-18 hr fasts.
  • I saw a YouTube video about fasting vs calorie restriction one Saturday and started a 5-Day Fast that Monday. I finished Friday and Saturday morning, I had a bunch of eggs and tomatoes, expecting this huge enjoyment factor but it was meh. Since then, nearly 2 years later, I haven’t felt “hunger”. No grumbling stomach, even when I go for 2-3 days with no food, though I can get cravings for things still. I mostly use long fasts for “shock and awe” and then a few weeks of lower and regular days until the weight stays stable, and then start again. Never being hungry definitely makes it easier- has anyone else had this happen?
  • The insomnia from fasting was the hardest speedbump for me. And it was the worst when i overtrained fasted.
  • @Ypracs
I used to fast soooo much every single day for days, weeks, months. Lost all my bodyfat & muscle i looked gaunt, i was in nutrient deficiency and I developed extreme anxiety. By all means I love fasting and i still do it till this day but I took it too far. Got to the point where I would forget to eat for days just for the sake of getting leaner. On top of that I would run, sprint and weightlifting.. people thought I was crazy. When I stopped fasting I gained most of my weight back, ( from 140 back to 165 ) I still fast but I just will not take it as far as I did when I first started.
  • i’m on keto and i feel like i just need 1 meal per day but 2 days ago i didnt notice ang change in my weight
  • @Synxszm
Super nice video Thomas, i agree too much fasting can cause damage, need more video on too much fasting and calorie deficit and how to recover properly.
  • Great video. I think fasting is something you should cycle in through the year. I've done it all year and you're spot on why I shouldn't 7 days a week
  • I did OMAD for 7 years. Changed to eating more often, main reason having lost 39 lbs / 18 kgs I wanted to add more muscle to act as a glucose soaker upper. There are days where I have gone 16+ hours without food, can do a gym session and still not feel the need to eat. I guess I must be fairly well fat adapted? Once the eating starts - the flood gates open. lol But even when they are, I can keep the window of eating fairly tight. Something that I guess comes from the OMAD approach. Each to their own. Enjoy your fat loss journey.

Idk I do 16/8 fast and get my three meals in a day.
