  • This is the most reflective I have seen Bird. Wonderful philosophical Bird interview. My favorite basketball player. My brother, sister and I met him several times as kids outside the Hellenic College practices. He always signed our scraps of paper and cards. Having him wish us Merry Christmas December 1989 was such a treat as a kid!

Truly one of a kind As Magic said at Larry’s retirement ceremony, “there will never, ever, be another Larry Bird”

if there is one thing Larry Bird has always been it's straightforward no-holds-barred honest and truthful!

It's very cool to see Bird's humility & candor, considering this interview took place after sooo many accomplishments. That's a dude to emulate, even without the game or fame.

See thats why Larty bird is 1 of the best ever. Not like these rookies showing off. He said money is over rated, money is the rootcof all evil. He's humble tough and he played competitively.

I listen to Dan Patrick every day on the radio, and this is the first time that I’ve seen this old interview. It’s really cool, being from Indiana Bird is royalty, and knowing how much Dan Patrick loves Bird makes this even cooler. I miss the 90’s !
  • Great interview with the very best all around player ever! So glad to be able to still watch Bird do his many things on YouTube! Thanks Larry, you really brightened up so many of us with your skills and unbelievable killer winning shots! Stay well!

I hated Larry Bird cos he always stopped the sixers, my favorite team back then because of Doc J. Just when I thought the sixers could catch up and win the game, he’d drill baskets that were backbreakers. He just killed em and seemed like he was just trying to annoy sixers fans deliberately. Today, now that I’m wiser, love him. So much respect.
