  • Hoping Kuro won't listen to critics and maintain that subtle elegance and techwear inspired fashion design in future characters
  • @renyoudie
Very cool to see someone giving the ambient tracks a chance. I do think that they could push some of the boss themes further in the PGR direction, but I really liked the ambient overworld tracks.
  • @Reubenaut
For the music I think the ambient music is good my favorite is the dim forest with the occasional guitar giving a feeling of adventure in a way

NAHH THE CONFESSION PART 💀💀 Great video btw!!
  • @Duckology
It’s great to see someone finally appreciating the character design in this game. I thought I was the crazy one for thinking the designs fit the world the characters live in while every other CC/player complained that the designs were boring and arguing with weak points. Very well made video!
  • Something you may have overlooked somewhat, but similar to games like Genshin Impact, regions are based on real life places. Specifically Huanglong and everyone originating from there usually wears traditionally chinese clothings to an extend, as that's what the Region is based on... Characters like Mortefi, Aalto, Encore or Calchero all come from the Region called "The New Federation", which moreso mirrors more modernized Western styles, the ones of non-traditional Europe or North America.

I always find it funny when people says Wuthering Waves musics are bad. Lots of the game aspect revolve around sounds, of course they understand music.
  • Fun fact: the area between the end of the skirt and the beginning of the sock/boot (aka the thigh) is known as "absolute territory" in japan (which is also the name of an absolute BANGER of a song by ken ashcorp)
  • Never thought I enjoyed a full video about character design in super detail. Love the Design Gazzette format and hopefully you can come back to talking more about the designs of future characters and NPC's in Wuthering Waves dude, you rock
  • melancholic music YUOU ARE SO CORRECT THE FEEL OF THE GAME IS SO DIFFERENT
  • First time viewer here. Your personality electrified me and hooked me to watch the whole video. - I appreciate you for pointing out the techwear aspect of Wuthering Waves designs and erm, not mentioning about the "muted colors". Very fresh take. - The bit about Danjin being this (Ideal) "Chinese Doll" made me appreciate the thought that went to her design. - The whole Jianxin part of the video. Sheesh, I liked her for her parrying skill, but now I love her even more after watching this video. Thanks! - You just convinced me how awesome thighs are. Seriously. - I don't mind the design reviews for each patch instead of per individual. I mean, 18 debut characters and you did awesome with it.

Quite the underrated channel i stumbled upon. Hope you succeed.
  • I have watches a lot of WuWa content the last weeks and the amount of research and work that reflected in the final product is stellar. Thank you for putting this out.
  • While my subconscious KNEW the designs were amazing, my brain couldn't put it into words, you did that! Anytime someone has complaints about the character design, I'm linking them this video!
  • Your video is the sole art direction analysis (music, environmental design, character design, etc.) that literally aligns with my sentiments. From the tactical gear and tech wear inspiration. To Yoji Shinkawa. And to Death Stranding inspirations from the BT-vibes of some whisperin TDs (even the vehicles looks like Death Stranding's vehicles). To the ambient and melancholic approach with the music that reminds me sometimes of Disco Elysium, non-Low Roar music of Death Stranding, and some non-vocal tracks of Nier. I've watched plenty of analysis and critiques and all of them missed one crucial thing except you. INTENTIONALITY. I've heard people criticizing the music saying it lacks melody or sounds like a random mish-mash of sounds. I've seen criticize the character designs and use primarily over-simplified and even amateurish points like saying WuWa has bad designs just because they have primarily black and white color. And that Verina is their favorite just because she's green and she stands out. Or that the Silhouette of Calxharo and Jiyan on the bottom half are too sinilar hence bad. All dismissed intentionality. Only saying the what of the dev's approach but never asking the why. Only your video did that. That intentionality is even more apparent in PGR where they use the character or clothing accoutrements and give it function. Literally tactical gear approach. From a character suddenly wearing head scopes when shooting a bow and arrow. To an combusting leg booster for a character to execute a unique attack. They have some of what I call dynamic character designs where a part of a character or their clothing changes. We can see some of these in WW with Aalto's shoulder pads having holes in it cause it produce mists crucial to his kit. Jinhsi's attack string produce dragon horns at certain points. Changli's clothing literally changes on some forte activation levels giving her flaming sleeves, to her being sleeveless but blind-folded. You earned my fucking sub mister. I already quit HSR but I might play it again just because you actually make great and well-reasoned content. Not the over-simplified "oh it's all black and white characters so the character design is bad" or "oh there's no percussions or operatic vocals so the music is bad." Absolute premium content my man.
