  • Zero food waste is truly an art! You may not realize it, but the best lesson you share each week is your inspiring positivity in approaching all your projects. I think this glass-half-full attitude -- finding joy and abundance in what we have already, including the simple beauty of nature -- is probably the best life hack there is.
  • Hi Emmi and Paul. I’m just watching this before I go to bed in England. I’m a 71 year old granny and I just wanted you to know that you have changed my life in several ways. It seems a bit ridiculous that a couple who I don’t know in US could have affected my life style, but you have! After my family left home I continued food shopping every week as I always had in the past. After watching you for over a year I now shop when I have to. I always have a good stock in the cupboards and freezer and I now make so many different meals from what I have. Our food is not as expensive as yours, although prices have risen, but I have saved so much money this way. Thank you so much! You have reached the other side of the pond! Sending very best wishes to you both x
  • OMG. I am 37, was born in Belarus, now I live in Poland. Far away from NY) But I watch your videos as soon as I get notification. It feels like you are my family. So comfort, so warm, so wise..You help me not to give up and belive in good. Thank you and all the best to your sweet family!

I am so thankful that you both are okay and that you kept those old sheets. I just love the way you two can just whip up a meal and your ability to think clearly in crisis situations. You two have inspired me to cook at home and make meals from what we have on hand. I used to stock my freezer and pantry, then go to the store for ingredients for a meal instead of defrosting the meat in the freezer. Your channel has been such an inspiration to me because you are not about deprivation. You show people how to have a full and beautiful life on a budget. As we used to say in the 80's, keep on truckin.
  • Emmy-at the risk of sounding weird, I just want you to know something so special. My grandma passed away several years ago, but every time I see your hands up close in a cooking video, they remind me of her! She had a couple little “sun spots” like you do, and I don’t know, they just look like her hands!!! And now today you have on the only color of nail polish she ever wore. I hope you don’t take that the wrong way, it’s a very sweet memory. I have thought it many times, but I just had to comment today with the nail polish ta-boot!
  • I have a small veggie garden which I love. My neighbor was overcrowded with lettuce plants and shared. I have salad from my garden every night. My deck is holding several potted tomato plants thanks to your encouragement. My friend loves to garden but does not store or freeze any of it. I am so grateful she calls me all the time to help myself and load my freezer. Tomorrow night I pick raspberries! A little work and a lot of reward.
  • Oh my goodness, you both are such an inspiration. I’m 71 yrs old and would just love to have the enthusiasm you have about saving and preparing delicious food. I’m very lacking in this. Bless you both for sharing.
  • Hi! After 64 years on this earth, I have finally started to master the skill of putting together items I have without relying on a recipe. Never had the cooking confidence to try before. People like you have helped me to be willing to be more flexible and creative. Thank you!

The biggest life hack I think is not to be shy asking people for advice or recommendations. Today a random stranger gave me wonderful tips on school study and colleges and when I see a person with a bargain or a new product at a shop, I often ask where they got it from in the shop or if the product is worth recommending, politely and non intrusive of course. That way I have saved tons and often get product advise or superb recipes plus I don't spend ages looking for where things are in the shop. I would also not be shy to ask for some tips or just admire a good piece of house construction, or a fence or garden and people are generally so happy that you appreciate all the work they put in they generally give you superb tips, sometimes they might even offer you a plant or construction drawings to take away.
  • Emmy, the music you are playing while making the pancakes makes me think you are a 1950s TV show. ♥️😀 the perfect music for you and Paul! Love, love, love!
  • Some folks may not agree with what I did the other day. Somehow a tube of Grands buttery biscuits were hidden in the back of the fridge. The use by date was December 23, 2022. I took a chance and baked them anyway. They were really good, with no off taste, smell, or appearance. Wow, those tacos looked delicious. And I love your Mickey Mouse ice tray. What fun! I dearly loved today's video. Diane in NC
  • It sure would make my day to be able to meet both of you in person. Love you Emmy and Paul…you inspire me to live a more frugal life .. I am so grateful and blessed knowing you through all your videos. ❤❤
  • My husband had porches built on the front and back of our house, one is screened in the other open. We have had furniture stored in our shed for about 15 years waiting to use on our porches when the time came to get the additions built on to our house. I must emphasize that after 15 years or more of age it’s all in need of refinishing. I’m watching videos to learn how to do it myself instead of buying all new patio furniture. I’m a nervous and a little intimidated, but willing to give it a try in order to save money. Love you both and thank you for the encouragement from your videos. God’s blessings. 🤗

Wow, Paul & Emmy; I saw 239 watching the live! That's great. You two are "rock stars!" 😅
  • The other day I was looking through my tiny freezer and I saw several small containers of Kate Kaden's Chicken Ranch Chili (which I frugalized).I made a pan of rice (which you graciously taught me how to make) and added all the Chili. Now I have wonderful summer meals.
  • @d.parisi
Glad y'all are safe!!!I am still praying for all those effected by the crazy weather this summer and I know you are too. Life hack: if food in the fridge is on it's last leg, I use it before I lose it. For example I mixed blueberries and blackberries and I made jam. I made refrigerator pickles from some extra cucumbers a neighbor gave me. My daughter gave me a bag of apples she got for 25¢ so I canned 2 pints of applesauce 😄 See you next week😊

What yummy looking tacos! Another great, helpful video - thank you for always being such an encouragement. Our unexpected trouble at home last night was no water. There was a water main break that left us without running water for 10 hours yesterday. I was so proud of us for not letting it become an excuse to eat out! I found enough leftovers in the fridge to reheat in the microwave to feed us both - then we went up the road to our church to get a bucket of water to flush toilets with until the water came back on. We used a couple of bottles of water to brush our teeth and drink with dinner. There are almost always solutions to our problems if we take the time to look for them!

  • Awesome dinner! This is exactly what I do to save$$. I go through fridge n cupboards and it's amazing how much food is in there! I haven't food shopped in almost 3 weeks. Yay. Ty and stay well😘
