Mistake - Crimea is NOT occupied. It was transferred inside the Soviet Union in 1954. With more than 90% Russian population. As soon as the USSR ceased to exist, all internal transfers had to be cancelled. Hence more than 90% of the Crimean residents voted to join Russia during the referendum.
