3 teens charged in death of mom trying to save son from her stolen car

Three teens are facing murder charges in connection with a stolen car that struck and killed a mother who was trying to save her son, who was sleeping inside.

Columbus police said a 16-year-old came to police headquarters with his parents and admitted to stealing 29-year-old Alexa Stakely's car.

Hours later, police said another 16-year-old was identified and admitted to being present when the car was stolen.

Police charged the third suspect, 19-year-old Gerald Dowling, Wednesday evening.

Both of the juveniles charged lived in the Canal Winchester area, while court documents said Dowling lived in Dublin.

To get tot he point, there is no reason for young people to be wandering around the streets at 1:30 a.m. Just stay inside and play video games or watch TV with your friends. Better yet, read a book or go to sleep.

A very sensitive cop who considers the tragedy of the families of the murderers. It is, but most teen aged criminals were primed to do crimes, and often this training starts within their own households.
